Hello there good people.
I am building a rig for my flatmate and I'd like any general advice you can give me on my current component choices; experiences with the products etc.

This is his first desktop computer so I am also listing peripherals.

------------------------------ Overclocked Bundle
CPU - Phenom II x4 quad 955 black edition
MOBO - Asus Crosshair III Formula
RAM - 2x2GB ddr3 Corsair XMS3 1600MHz
CPU Cooler - Titan Fenrir
------------------------------ Selected Components
PSU - Corsair TX 650W (would get pc power and cooling 750W if in stock)
Case - Antec 902 or CM Storm Scout, depending on preferences (I hear the cable management in the Scout is bad, but that's my problem)
GPU - He will borrow one of my 9800GT cards (Im running sli but its a waste of time, 2 seem to have no improvement over 1 for me) until next year when he will buy one of the new DX11 cards.
Sound Card - I believe one comes with the motherboard? If not, on board will be good until we select a ~£35 thereabouts one
HDD - Western Digital Caviar Black 500/640/1000 GB, depending on preferences. Can someone explain what the "Blue" editions of the drives are?
------------------------------ Peripherals
Mouse - Logitech MX518
KBD - Undecided (any specific recommendations around the £40 mark?)
Monitor - Dell S2409W 24" 1080p
Mic - Cheap-o Speedlink SL-8705, only £3 so mreh
Mouse Mat - Spare icemat we have sitting about
Speakers - Undecided, a nice 2.1 Logitech set probably
Headset - Undecided, I personally don't really like OCUK's choices

Interestingly, all these components except the GPU come to about £900 ^_^

Well thanks for reading - please shower me with any necessary advice for this build.

oh, about these overclocked bundles. Do they just come as separate components except the mobo has all the settings for the OC saved. Also, wouldn't that mean the cpu fan should still be on otherwise I'd have to reapply the thermal paste leading to an uneven surface? Or... does it just come preassembled?

they come with ram and cpu in place, you need to reapply TIM and attach cooler, no problems with uneven surfaces though, they clean off the old stuff
and yes all the OC settings will be saved in the BIOS for you
