Taking a neighbour to court

Get an ultra sonic dog trainer and use it every time it barks.

Otherwise get your own, louder dog.

They're very hit and miss, I could spent 30 quid and wire one up to the wall outside and have it not work.

And, although there's a few flippant remarks in this thread, I want to stay in the right, so no poisoning, no revenge noise-making etc as knowing my luck, it'll be me that ends up in court on the wrong end of the law.

It's now a fully grown Alsation and I'm sure some of you know how loud they can be so the loudness isn't an issue, an SPL meter would be handy but I really need something to help evidence wise so it needs to record/timestamp it so when he denies his dog was barking I can present it as a form of evidence. I've got pages and page of diaries we've kept but they're easily refutable.

Everyone round here's a bit hoyty toyty and would balk at the thought of being a witness in court so I can't really rely on the neighbours, even though I know they have a problem with the dog too (one of them ended up turning a hosepipe on it at about 5am one morning to get it to shut up).

if you can't get any neighbours to testify then you will need to hire a third party court recoginzed "expert" to make the decibel recordings and time. I think that your measurements wouldn't have much sway in court and would be considered heresay. afterall you may not be using properly calibrated equipment, you could tamper with it etc... I reckon an expert will not be cheap to hire

maybe some other options
- buy the dog a bone to keep him busy
- can RSPCA help?
- buy earplugs

Might be a long shot, but if its outside all night call the RSPCA. They dont mess about, if its being neglected in anyway.

You're joking right?
Our neighbour left her dog outside for 5 days when she went on holiday and when the RSPCA came they just said he looked well fed and went.

We bought one that goes round the collar and gave it to our neighbour to put on the dog.
It worked perfectly for 2 months and then she lost it.

I don't need neighbours to testify, I have a policeman who our neighbour has admitted the problem to and detailed resolutions (which he never bothered with) he was going to take to remedy it.

And I don't think my 9 month old daughter would take kindly to earplugs.

Your neighbour is a dirty skank, how do people live in conditions like that?
