Taking Blood

When I donate I generally tend to look away as they stick me. As I don't want to flinch or move at that crucial point (not that I do when I'm not looking). Once it's in I'm more than happy to have a look at the bag filling up etc.

Bit that gives me the 'hebe gebes' is when they slowly pull it out:p

I love needles personally, i think they're cool, tap into my pipelines and do what is needed.
And I love giving blood or just having blood taken for tests. Makes me go a bit like "Hey, thats my blood, a lot of it!"

Only time I dislike needles is at the dentist.

It doesn't bother me at all really, in fact I find it quite interesting. I'm more concerned about the person than the needle and the blood.

The last time I had my blood taken the lady was way too heavy handed and fast. She never took the time to find the right vein and her hand was wobbling all over the place as she changed tubes (so it'd dig into me each time.)

I had a weird yellow bruise up my forearm for a whole week.

I try to read everything on walls and think about something else. Even the smell of hospitals and doctor's surgery makes me feel ill.

I had a bad experience with a trainee nurse when I was 10/11 when the needle tube was ripped out as she turned around.

I also maybe thought my blood was green once, I don't know if I was hallucinating or it was mixed with something in the pot ???.

I gave bloody couple of weeks ago and I dont watch the needle going in but after that yep watch my bloody leaving :p

On the plus side it only took 5 mins - I must be a squirter  :D
