Looking for a cheap, respectable, nice to drive car that is cheap on insurance.

I'm 24 with no NCD and a new license. No points, nothing.

Looking at a Mazda 6 1.8 S or something similar. I think it's a nice looking respectable car for someone my age. Also liking the Mazda 3.

What other cars would you guys suggest? I don't really want to spend more than £1700 on a car.

Lets class it as my first car...

Yes. I did a few quotes on Comparethemarket.com

Mazda 3 1.4 TS - £1400 no box
Mazda 3 1.6 TS - £1500 no box
Mazda 6 1.8 S - £1500 no box

All fully comp.

Focus Mk1 1.6/1.8.

Will be a better drive than the Mazda.

Get a 2002 Mk1.5 Focus 1.6 Zetec in black with 110k miles.
