Sounds a bit gay for lifting.

Get some very stiff wrist wraps and have them tight. I hurt my wrist badly playing rugby and found with wrist wraps I could still bench while it healed.
 
So now I'm rather confused, wrist straps or wrist tape : \ ?

I've bought some RDX Wrist Weight Lifting Training Gym Straps Bandage Black/White for now :)

Either or. They both do the same thing, both have pro's and cons. If the straps you bought do the job then great, much cheaper than using tape every session. Fingers crossed.
 
Those probably aren't the best thing if used in the conventional way but as long as you still have full ROM in your wrist while wearing them I'd say the were probably ok, and they are only a few pounds. You definitely don't want something designed for lifting heavy though, like the other wraps suggested.

Delbuenno is a man to listen to on these forums though, so I'd probably go with what he suggested with the tape :).


Edit: just saw the response. Just be very aware that using that kind of wrap tight will reduce the amount of work the muscles in your wrist do so will make it weaker if you are not careful.
