Hey I have played golf on and off the last few years (in my 20s)

I studied sports science and done a lot off biomechanics study on golf. It for sure improved my technique. As well as psychology off putting.

I am without being big headed very good at putting and chipping. It is the norm for me to manage 30-50yd chips into hole (literally) or within very close distance to hole.

however, I cannot drive for xxxx.

I cannot use low clubs well. I am good with sand wedge, 9, pitch etc....but drivers etc..total useless in either direction or power....

If I want to get accuracy I get no power. If I smash it its wild but often I cant get long drives anyway or just lucky.

Anyway golf centers offer lessons but they are quite costly I think? Maybe 15-20 quid an hour or more? I cant recall.

Anyway when I play with my friends I easily stand out in putting and chipping so I have potential if I can improve my drive and fairway game.

But in my 20s am I too old to make any kind off living from it? And how does one start?

Enter local tournaments?

simple answer - you need to play golf to a super high standard to be able to make any "money" out of it.

If you can't drive a ball - you can't hit a low/mid iron and your not willing to pay £15/£20 for some coaching then you have zero chance of "making it" - sorry it that sounds harsh!.

I know so many golfers that look and play superbly well (+4 golfers etc) but they struggle to make it on the local/national amateur circuit, let alone getting anywhere near the pro ranks.

You have to dedicate your life to it - a few hours a week etc will get you nowhere at the top end of the game. You need time, practise, money, commitment and above all that talent to be able to reach to top in any sport.

Before playing any tournaments - you need a handicapp - therefore you need to join a golf club and play there to be allocated a handicap. Without this you can not just enter tournaments.

Start with the basics and go from there. Join a club, have a few lessons, get a handicap.

Enjoy

ok sorry to sund dumb. But I just chose a local gofl course and enroll in there ''club''.. I ahve to pay membership? then what happens, they have torunaments?

I cant afford to practice at golf range atm..I mean its like 15 quid for 50 balls on driving range? That goes so fast.

However I can go to park and practice with my own balls I can collect for free. I have 100+ golf balls so can afford to lose some.

but i am being serious

1. I can play guitar

2. I am quite good at golf

3. I considered bookkeeping

4. I am well endowed to do porn

5. I am unemployed and hate normal jobs

Quite good at golf would mean you could hit more than just your short irons well. If you're quite good at golf this would mean I should be playing on the tour as I hit my longer irons and woods consistently well :p

sorry I correct.

2.I am very good at pitch and putt.

Sadly there is not a lucrative pro circuit on the pitch and putt world. Now I need to advance to good gofler by improving my driving and fairway game.

Out of interest which is better situation for a newbie to golf.

A. a good short game poor long game

B. A good long game poor short game.

What is easier to learn and more key to being a top golfer.

Surely the short game is more essential as that is were minute accuracy is reuqired and more pressure.

Ask google.
Generally, you'll have to go on the waiting list for a while before you get the privilege to pay them silly amounts of money to be a member.

Everyone hates normal jobs. Man up and get yourself down the job centre.

Lol. Just lol.

I can wear socks, can I be a sock model?
I can wash my car, can I be a professional detailer? I have no money to buy a sponge though . . . .

You need a job to get anywhere. You need money to do any sort of training. How can you make millions, when you cannot afford to even join a golf club, or even a lesson or 2 with someone who knows what they are doing?

Get a job. Not one related to your degree. Just a job.

I get bored after 9 holes anyway 18 holes takes to long.

You will never be a porn star then :p
