Team Building Activities

Meal / Night out?

Something like an all you can eat chinese / then pub crawl.

Paintballing is great fun, but when I went some of the people I went in to turned in to Rambo's and took it all far to seriously.

But even in work, I always talk to collegues about general stuff thats not work related? I thought team building was working on different areas in order to get you to flow better with different tasks in work? like raft building would teach and test team co-ordination, communication and execution skills etc.

Said most are quite old, some unfit and one preggers?

Kind of limits you, in regards to physically doing things, while things like paintballing would be good, the unfit and preggers might not enjoy it.

I've been on lots of staff meals / pub crawls, always a good giggle.

I've been on a few paintballing kind of things, were good fun as well.

You asked for ideas, that was my idea.

Team building doesn't have to be so organised and forced, in fact you'll find many people hate this sort of team building (raft making etc).

A less forced social meet suits many other types of office, and let's face it, you've got a ready made designated driver ;)
 
We did rock climbing and caving. However probably not suitable for a pregnent women but then again not a lot is.
 
Just induce labour on the pregnant lady, and then you can all work as a team delivering said baby.
Then take her paintballing after :)
Surely that would go well???

A murder mystery night. £40 should get you a meal and the fun.
 
I agree that you have to think about the older ones and pregnent ones I guess, but still, I think going out and having a meal is more classed as a social work outing or time to bond rather than team building.

As mentioned, it doesnt have to be physically challenging, could be something like a murder mystery night, or a ghost hunting night.
