For the life of me I cannot get this things stable on Orthos, and I'm sure there holding my OC back. Anybody else got experience, past or present with UCCC chips??.

They always seem to fail Test 2 on Orthos, when I select the memory stress option.

I've gone from 2.6v to 2.8v and still no luck.

They are rated at 500mhz DDR but are no where near this, and all the timings on them are lax.

Any help would be appreciated

Using a A8R32 mobo and an Opty 165.

Does MemTest give any errors?

lol, Haven't tried it tbh.

Do you think changing from the Blue slots to the black Ram slots will help??

And if Memtest gives errors, what does that mean exactly??

It means you've got faulty RAM

Floppy drive sounds like a dying cat.

How long does this thing take??

All I see are aload of numbers :|.

It will run for ever. It tells you if there are faults. It tells you at the top test x/x run x

Or something similar. Its been a few months since ive used it.

Basically any errors will come up in the table below all the numbers and so on. You need to run it for a good few hours, at work I leave it running over night and by the morning if there's nothing, I can then assume the memory is ok.

The problem is, RAM can show errors and 5 mins, 2 hours or 24 hours just like orthos testing an overclocked processor.

With regards to the RAM slots, if MemTest runs ok I would leave the Memory where it is. If you are getting problems then by all means, try another combination.

I know on my DFI board two slots are for stability and the other two for overclocking.
