Got the house phone put in the other day, came in after work five minutes ago and there was 7 pretty random messages flashing at me... one sounded like a five year old in the bath. Second was 'amy' trying to get hold of 'marie'. Couple of hang ups (but answer machine records 1471 so I know that I do not recognise those numbers)......

considering this number has been given out to no one, and I mean no one I am finding this bizzare!

Do you think the engineer has robbed someone else number and given me it?

Whats the chances?

Phone numbers can sometimes be recycled.

Or you may have a number that is very similar to somebody elses.

It's hardly X-Files material though.

Or maybe that's just what I want you to think.

already done it ;) rather more ellequently than that however....

Yeah that's perhaps a good idea.

I had the same problem with a second hand phone. Someone kept sending me rude jokes in text messages. In the end it just stopped :(

you could forgive a second hand for such inconviences, a new landline however? Bah if its not sorted by Monday I'll phone them back up and moan until I get my first month free. :)

When I last moved house we kept getting phone calls for some business or other. Wouldn't have minded but when we told them it was a residential address/number some of them argued! Never did quite get my head round that.
