Tell me about Leon FR's

I'm just about to get rid of mine at the weekend(05 plate, 116k, yours for close to £4k before Saturday ;))

Can't fault it really, only that it was starting to feel like it has done that many miles, up until around 110k it felt fairly solid but recently it has felt a bit loose almost.

Nothing much went wrong (coolant hose popped off, coolant temp sensor broke, glow plugs were replaced) and I never had any real issues with it :)

FR spec means you will have the Aura CD head unit with a 6 disk changer in the glovebox
Not true. Cupras had them as standard iirc, and FR+ did - but FR's only had them as an option, which my car didn't get :(

We've just got a Cupra Mk1 for the missus. Goes like hell, handles like it's on rails, had no problems with it thus far, but ours has had a replacement 'box and clutch. They leak from the door seals and the rear lights get condensation in them. Other than that, they are great cars!

I didn't know that ! mind you I'm strongly considering ripping it all out and getting a decent removeable HU with ipod dock for the golvebox..

Sorry but I disagree. Its just turned 70k miles and here is my list of replacement parts and annoyances

2 x new front springs
2x driveshafts
2x rear calipers
100000x suspension bushes and bits and pieces

The interior rattles, its cheap, and nasty and I'm sorry but I had a 620ti - I'd have it back ten times over this thing and its a rover.....

He is on a bout the new model renaultsports as they've won hot hatch of the year 2 years in a row.

Hey,

Anyone had any serious reliability problems with them?
Total spend on repairs (not fuel, tyres, etc) on mine (Cupra 4) was something obscene like €5000 in 2 years.

However, around half of that was spent in the first six months.
Don't buy one with broken suspension and it shouldn't cost you much :p

As I've said before, the engine is very solid and reliable.
