Tell me about Mini Coopers !

Learnt to drive in one. It was okay without being loveable.

If I had £10-12k I would definitely be going for something else. Also, I'm not sure if the trend continues throughout the parts for it, but the brake pads for it are skittery little things and cost considerably more than they should.

Ps. Don't fall into the trap of thinking you're getting anything close to a BMW, not that I think they're anything special.

Brilliant, congrats :)
I probably would have ended up with one if they as cheap as they are in the UK..

Not convinced about the black wheels, my mod would've been to fit an Akropovic exhaust :o

There is a 54 plate Cooper S for sale in lincoln with 50k on it for £6,000, its a nice blue colour and its got some nice alloys on it.

If its still there I'm, going to take the missus to look at it at the weekend as she quite fancies one.
I think they suck balls, which is something she is going to have to do a lot of before I even think about parting with £6k just so she can show off at work.

The brake pads are not particularly expensive at all

I said they cost more than they should, particularly when compared to other cars. Presumably and as mentioned previously, you can end up paying a premium on parts because of the BMW-link.

GF really want one of these, I have to say I am coming round to the idea, like the cars in the thread, needs Black wheels

for me probably be a lot cheaper to run then the scooby....I wonder which is more fun ;)

Enjoy the new car

That seems like a fantastic deal. Make sure you give it a proper look over as its very, very cheap. If its in great condition and its all legit, thats a great buy.

How much do they cost then?

You should know, considering you said they weren't very expensive at all.

I fitted a set recently and I remember them being very small and not cheap.

I don't have a specific figure from memory but I remember them being cost excessive for what they were, compared to other sets. I imagine that even if I did have a figure available, you would be able to find a better one so it's not worth getting too bogged down in brake pads (i.e individual parts) alone.

My original point is that they can be a touch more expensive to run, given their link to BMW.

See figures from eidolon.

Basically, you were wrong, the brake pads are not expensive.

As I said on the previous page, they are expensive for what they are, which are dinky little pads.
