Tell me about the Fiat 500..

Looks good in that pearlescent white, optional colour on all the 500s iirc.

I too like the Abarth, I think Grey is perhaps my favorite colour for one.

Budget isn't completely concrete yet, but probably around £7-8k when we come to buying it. The main reason for her wanting one is because it's a cool looking car. I will hold my hands up and say I have never even been in one, so have no idea what they're actually like as a car.

Engine wise, again, no idea, my thoughts were probably heading towards the Twin Air version.

I quite like the idea of having access to the 500 as I think they're very cool, however if you have some decent alternatives, women friendly alternatives, then I'd love to know :)
 
The twin air is supposed to be a pretty good engine by all accounts except people struggling to reach Fiats suggested MPG.

You'll get better MPG on the old 1.2l than the twin air engine, the twin air engine is also turbocharged which is something to potentially go wrong in the future.

In a few years stuff like the twin air will be the default and in every small car but at this early stage I would stick with the bombproof 1.2l, it's cheaper, does better MPG, has less to go wrong and is known to be very reliable.
 
Have test driven the 1.4, Not a bad little car but I did get loads of road noise in the one I drove. More than likely the alloys and tyre combo on the thing.

Women love them and they hold their value quite well like the Mini,

I preferred the Swift myself and initially you will get more for your money, But then you factor in resale value it doesn't look as attractive. I'd just go out on the weekend with the missus around a few dealers and have a poke about the small cars Fiesta,Swift,500,Mini,Mazda 2,Polo you know the score I'm sure.

Also starting to look for one of these for the mrs.

I like the look of the sport but I see above someone mentions you am aswell go for the lounge?

Www.motorpoint.co.uk (derby) have some delivery mileage 500's in. 61 plate 1.2 sport for £8999 which seems like a bargain to me considering how well these hold their value. Choice of most colours too.
 
GF's siter just got one. Has more space in the back and boot than our A1. Also, in our A1 my head hits the roof when sitting in the back, it doesn't in the Fiat 500.

I quite like the 500, very stylish, good price and nippy.
