Okay so I've been offered a new job and want too put my notice into my manager now but what on earth do I say. I have too give a months notice in so my last working day will be 16/02/07.

Any pointers

Cheers guys.

Something along the lines of:

[Line Manager's Name],

As required by my contract, I hereby give [notice period]'s notice for the termination of my employment with [company name]. My last day of employment with the company will be [date].

You can ramble on a bit if you like saying how you've enjoyed your time there but a better opportunity has come up etc but the bare minimum is acceptable.

Depends on how well you get on with your boss i guess.

Put the first part in writing, though and hand it to him.

you would get paid for holidays outstanding.....or they may work something out with you to leave early.

but you're definately entitled to pay for those.

Thanks for the advice fellas. I've put my notice in now and yes I will definately be taking some leave.
