So had a shoot today and these were some of the best.

It's the first time i've used a lighting setup on my own. Had to borrow a friends and normally he sets up the lighting. So today was all me :D

C&C obviously welcome.

Think I like the 2nd photo the best - she looks relaxed, and its a decent pose. The lighting, in general is a bit flat - did you use just one flash ( on-camera ) for some of them ?

Like her smile in 1st photo, but hand placement looks awkward. A dark backdrop is hard to shoot against ( unless you are planning to do low key stuff ) because clothing and dark coloured hair has a tendency to merge in with the bacground, as seen in 2nd and 5th photos especially.

Yeah used the on camera flash for all of them. (430EX II)

No idea how I did it but the lamps were triggered by the flash for some of them but not all of them.... I didn't actually notice as I was looking through the viewfinder :p

Getting my own lamps very soon so will learn how to use them properly.

She was a great model for me and was willing to do stuff which I requested so hopefully you'll see some better sets from the both of us in the future.

Thought I would have had more comments especially with the amount of views ;)

They were, as I was, expecting that ass view you've promised....:D
I am in 2 minds on them shots. I know it is hard to get the right shot, especially when you're doing all the lighting etc, thus I admire you will and ability to try however I think the black background didn't help. Maybe a low key shot, as suggested by xaldub. I personally prefer it to be white/hi-key for portraits, or outdoor.
