Off to try the MT09 and XSR900 today and maybe the MV Brutale RR as its time to say goodbye to sports bikes.

Was wondering if anyone on here has got one and how they find them? It'll only ever be a good weather toy.

How did you manage to get to test so many bikes in one day? My Triumph dealers looks at me as if I'm some sort of freak when I want to test ride a bike. That or they just completely ignore me if I sign up for a test ride.

They sorta know me, I did buy a GSXR1000 years ago from them, have a ZX9R now. Plus they don't know that last time I went for a test drive (not with them) I had a slight mishap on an 848 and threw it down the road.

I'll be interested to hear your feedback, all those bikes look great imo - although the doubts around the long term durability of the MT models would put me off I think.

Will do. What are the doubts about the durability of the MT's...?

 I bet that was an expensive day!

Not as bad as you might think. I had to pay the £500 excess, but claimed for boots, leathers, jacket, gloves and a new lid from my home contents insurance.

The bike shop Moto Rapido in Winchester were great about the whole thing, I guess it happens and said that if I did buy a bike from them they would find somewhere to lose £500 off the costs! Unfortunately after the crash the wife thought it'd be a bad idea to get one, but I did love it.

I didn't take the MV out in the end. Had a good old run on the XSR and MT. XSR was first, it was fun to ride, although the bars felt a bit far away and the wind at 80+ was a PITA, but I guess that's naked for you. I did want to like it most because I do like the whole retro cool thing at the moment.

Then drove the MT....same engine but oh my what a piece of kit. I preferred the riding position, much more comfortable on the arms and a more aggressive feel.

So the short of it is going to buy an MT. Just trying decide to whether to get the one in the full Yammie dress already done and pay more or just get stock and add bits over time. Tail tidy would be the first thing to sort if I buy stock.

Bought one. While I was milling it over last night, found one with 1500 on the clock one private owner so not a demo. It was down in Bournemouth so braved the weather which actually wasn't so bad at least until I got there.

Deal done, the 9 has gone and I'm the proud owner of a 2015 MT09 with the Akro on it, some soft panniers (coming off until I need them), a screen and the std exhaust. Whoop whoop!

Thanks chaps, its very nice and I did indeed pick it up today. Great little bikeshop BTW Motorbiking Bournemouth, although its in Christchurch. Nice friendly bunch of guys.

I dumped it in Ringwood at the Outlaws as it was proper hacking it down, going to get it home tomorrow as the weather looks much nicer.
