Testing CF cards

Hi, I have a couple of Lexar 1GB CF cards. Recently I have found that when copying the RAW images from the card to the PC one image will fail to copy with an error.

I have tried two PC's and 3 different media readers and the same problem persists. Also the cards have been tested in a 350D and 5D with the same results.

Is there any software available to test and report on any media errors for CF cards?

Don't know about the software but have you tried reformatting them in-camera?

In my experience, the CF cards ive had which have had errors usually cant be read under windows - ie, the moment you try to write to the CF using a card reader and the Drive is no longer recognised - vanished into Limbo. The only solution is to take it back to the shop for an exchange. Ive had corrupt RAW files in a CF - when that happens I usually quickly stop shooting and buy another CF. Unfortunately I always have problems with the same brand. Ive switched to another now to see if the problem goes away.

Thanks for the replies.

I called Lexar and they have decided to just replace them. I didnt realise they had 10 years warranty!
