My wife wants a largish TFT 32-40 inches for downstairs. She wants this for Sky HD when that comes out, which I presume will be via the HMDI connection? Why do these TV's have one HDMI slot, how are people planning on connecting a 360 to the TV when the HDMI port is full?

Surely the HDMI connection offers the best picture for the 360.

Toshiba & Panasonic's latest LCD lineups have dual HDMI ports both with HDCP. There are also switch boxes that allow you to hook up multiple HDMI devices to a single port.

Xbox 360 is Component/VGA only for HD. PS3 is HDMI due to BluRay, although I don't doubt they'll have component too :) Xbox 360 only outputs in analogue unfortunately so HDMI would bring no advantages (it would just relay a VGA signal).

LOL...You must be about the first person who's wife wants a 32" to 40" new LCD....

I been looking at the new toshibia 37" (37WLT66) with Two HDMI inputs...But am waiting for some reviews for it first..

Used up HDMI ports are going to be a problem in the near future I suspect, but I don't doubt there will be switch boxes available soon, for around £50-£100 for half decent ones, there is one coming out for component and optical soon for the 360 and other analogue HD devices.

Yeah she's driving me nuts, I watch about 1 hour tv per week in a non GP weekend. So i dont see the point until HD sky is out. I play the 360 on a dell 2405 anyway.

So basically looking at the replies I dont need 2 hdmi ports anyway, Just one and a component connection, or vga.
