TG01 Android

Just in case user's were not aware, the Toshiba TG01 can now run Android rather than Windows Mobile. It still has a long way to go as there is no call facility yet/gps/wifi, but it does run and works with sound/vibration.. important for 'angry birds' lol.

But finally.. the OS we always wanted

does it still run on top of Windows Mobile, like they got it to on the HTC Touch HD2?

At present yes, on top on windows.

On the HD2, they actually have a version for the ROM itself (to replace windows), but for some reason it runs slower than from the SD Card, so from what I know of, they are working on optimising it. If they get it onto the ROM for the HD2, it will hopefully get done for the TG01 as well.

The latest is they are still trying to get the SD Card itself to work (so app's can see the SD card to use music programs etc), and they may have got the GPS unit to work now.

Just thought I'd give some hope for people with TG01's, because it's a lovely phone ruined by Windows Mobile and they way Toshiba implemented certain 'features'.
