Yeah worked my way up from 16kg

These are single arm, sat down, elbow on leg curls

Slow and full extension so arm is fully straight then back again

I know 2 reps is not a lot but my body seems to get lazy otherwise

So 3 weeks ago I moved up to 22kg I could only manage 1 to 2 reps

now after a week at max 24 the 22d feel lighter so can now manage 4 reps

I just pyramid down from max

So

2 reps of 2x24
4 reps of 4x22
6 reps of 6x20
6 reps of 8x18

Etc

Normally between reps do chest press and 10x pullups

Just to let you know:

A rep is 1 repetition of the exercise
A set is multiple reps without a break.

So, 6 reps of 8x18 makes no sense. Do you mean 6 sets of 8 reps with 18kg?

that is a lot of bicep work, especially if you are doing pullups between sets.

Lastly, unless your aim is to bicep curl as much as you can, doing 2 reps is pointless :p

Hey, first time posting here.

How do you guys maintain your motivation to go to the gym? I'm really struggling at the moment. I've just finished university and gone straight into fulltime employment working 10-6. I have been going after work, getting home around 8.30, and then cooking dinner etc and it's already 9:30ish by then and I feel like I have no time to just chill :(

I haven't been since this time last week because I just cant be bothered. I have bringing my gym stuff to work everyday with the intention of going but it just doesn't happen :( The thought of just going home and relaxing is too tempting.

I'm 22 and this is my first 9-5 monday to friday job, only ever worked part time during summer etc before, and only been at it 2 weeks so think I'm still getting use to it.

So yea, how do you get motivated?

Cheers

Going after work is depressing imo, it start to feel part of the working day.
Find a better time to go, a time that you can enjoy the gym and feel that it is part of your relaxing time. Learn to enjoy it rather than forcing yourself.

Also, as always, set yourself some goals.

Close to finally joining a gym now. The Copthorne Hotel near me is £25.50 for one month (no fixed contract) which includes coffee, towels, full gym access, swimming pool, sauna/steam room.

Not bad to be honest, me and my friend are thinking about joining.

Other gym is Fitness First which is £28.50 which includes full gym access, steam room, free lessons for some martial arts/strength training but it's a 12 month contract which is putting me off.

Crawley?
If so, what about the old Cannons, think it's Nuffield now. That or there are a few powerlifting places around the area

got bored in work so went for a swim, did 50 lengths.

then had 2 cupcakes, a skinny vanilla latte (skinny was a bad choice, forgot about that!), raspberry and white cho muffin, 5 bbq drumsticks with some salad cream.

Lovely :)

had a swim last night, before heading to work. 100 lengths. go me.
knowing I had weetabix in work and the canteen always has the milk machine full before end of day, i decided i'd devour lots of weetabix.......

NO MILK!!!!

A lesson to everyone. Weetabix with water tastes gash. Horrible.

So I raided the vending machine as well :D

now with correct form i am repairing the damage and strengthening my wasted muscle. now i can agree that form may not matter as much when your doing some movements such as bicep curls, etc. but this is real science here and information from specialists,

I think the article was based on people who are of a healthy condition and then the comparison of good to bad form on top.
Of course bad form when you have a physical issue could make things worse, no one is going to say different :p

have you posted pics of your legs? I want to see them, in comparison to something else so we can gauge size, as if you cant sit in cars comfortably you must be MASSIVE.
