Wrong. If your OHP work truly does suck due to limitations caused by the bench, then you have bad volume tolerance. In which case you would not be misguided if you considered switching it to a different day.C) If people where telling me 'No dude, no one trains OHP on the same day as bench', then I could have drawn the conclusion that maybe that’s my issue. But it seems people are doing OHP on bench day. So with that in mind, I can just get on with it.
I'm hearing this more frequently of late, though on almost every occasion it's coming from people who are either, A: working out fasted first thing in the morning, or B: people who insist on not eating a substantial amount of carbohydrates PRE-training. Almost anybody I know who's taking in 80-100g carbs pre-workout is managing insane volume per body part.
Just sayin'.
I'd totally suggest at least giving it a go - about an hour pre-workout, load yourself with a mixture of carbs, some liquid, some complex, some simple, whatever (source may even be totally irrelevant) - over 70g worth - and go for a mad volume workout (bit of caffeine beforehand won't hurt either!). If you totally smash it, then there's your answer.Interesting pointmy diet protocol changed at the same time as my training. I generally tend to meet the criteria in point B and believed that I'm simply not conditioned for high volume/low frequency workouts having not done them for so long.
Though I seemed to progressively cope better with my push/pull split after a few weeks of adjusting.
That said you might be right, who knows![]()
It really wasn't a bait. I just thought it was crazy that OD responded to an HST program saying he would "definitely give it a go".Delvis said:Oh Opeth, its best not to respond to bait posts sometimes

Remember, what's good for one person might be the most terrible thing ever for another.
What? The triceps are a small muscle group. I'm assuming you are aware that many people work out 6, even 7 times a week.Routine A:
Bench Press
Leg Press
Dips
SLDL
Ab work
Routine B:
OHP
Pull Ups
Dumbell Bent over Rows
Barbell Curls
Calf Raises
If I swap my leg press with the OHP, wont I be hitting my triceps too much?

What are you concerned about, exactly? That your triceps will fall off due to over-stimulation?
Get a prosthetic arm.Of course I know people workout 6-7 times a week. But they usually do splits.
The only thing I'm trying to avoid is impeding my OHP performance by having tired triceps the day before. If its a non issue or not something I should be concerned about, then great.
Hey, I've got a question,
Does anybody know why these boards don't allow for private messaging?

I'll give it ashot anyway. See how it rolls.
