*** The all new Apple iPad thread - Keep all iPad stuff in here ***

As a self confessed mac hater, I laughed and ridiculed as my idiot friend had one of these on his coffee table when I went to visit on friday.

I bought mine on saturday.

No idea how it happened, seriously. My current excuse is that I slipped and fell into the chip and pin reader.

Anyway - are there any decent cases out there? I like the idea of the official one (friend has one so had a good poke at it) but the material seems rubbish.

I'm also on the lookout, a lot of the ones you can get online like the Griffin one are really thick...

What I want, is a nice version of the official one really... the front flap problem + the dust problem + the way the edges are finished just make it pap and definitely not worth £30 imo... does a nice third party version exist anyone? I would have a Dodo case if I could get one but a) don't want to pay that much and b) don't want to wait so long...

I went for the "Tuff-Luv Napa Leather Folio Case" its not the greatest looking case in the world but seems to offer decent protection plus offers 5 different viewing angles.

I initially got it as a stop gap before getting something better but the more I use it the more I like it.

ooohhh now dont get me wrong, I like the look of the one I've bought (^^^) - but this is stunning:

Vaja Limited Ed. iPad Case: €150

I have a Vaja case for my iPhone 3G.

Took an age to arrive, and the flip cover got annoying :(

Personally I'd rather have a slip case for my iPad... Can't see the point of making it heavier / ruining the sleekness of it by attaching a case! :(

Anyone know of any nice slip cases? :p

Got a zagg invisible shield on the way for the back of my iPad- I reckon that with a nice case just to carry it around in and she'll be fine!

See my post earlier about the case mate. Its a flip folder kinda of one but you take the ipad out which doesnt make it cumbersome.

Throwing a bone here, but anyone happen to have a direct number the the Apple Store in Belfast for a stock inquiry?

Yep tried that number on Sat, Sunday etc etc, it put you thru to a overall Apple automated selection thng, not the actual store.

Right, I decided to put myself through the torture that was 3 sim activation again, this time, magically, the fact that my office doesn't have a number wasn't an issue

Anyway, so now I'm waiting for it to activate which they said will be 3 hours...

Is there anything special I have to do to get it pick up the settings and to have a "View Account" button like I have for o2 so I can change tariffs, cancel etc directly from the iPad?

the 028 9016 1900 number ?

its the only one i can find. It would appear the direct store number (assuming that isnt it) is ex directory.
