*** The all new Apple iPad thread - Keep all iPad stuff in here ***

What sort of case would you guys recommend in the short term? I know a lot of you clubbed together to import the Dodo cases but I cant really wait for them to become available again before I get one.

Also, what else should I be thinking of getting? I'm thinking a stylus for apps like Penultimate as a note pad would really come in handy. Perhaps a desk stand (maybe even the one with the keyboard) - all sugestions welcomed!

I find the in build keyboard is fine for on the move. If you do want to buy the dock keyboard thing then personally I would get the dock and a wireless keyboard separately. This free you up and it is easier to travel with as it is 2 parts. The down side it will cost you about £20 more.

I have ordered a cheap £4 silicon case to protect the back until the dodocase arrive, and store in a netbook sleeve I have lying around when I am on the move.

I've ordered a Dodo case but to be honest with you I don't think its going to meet my needs.

For one it does not have room to store a screen-wipe or a stylus or any other accessories which is a down side :(

I have no need for a stylus and i clean the screen with the shirt i am wearing....it is 100% cotton lol.

Cheeky, but is there any way to download YouTube vids directly via any of the
Browsers?

Downloaded the Korg app, gonna take me awhile getting used to that!

Yeah, think I'm going to do the same, get hold of a cheap silicon case and a netbook sleeve while I work out what proper case to get.

On a side note, what is wrong with the official apple case?

do your trousers not have pockets?

the iPad doesnt come with a stylus, hence no need to create a case with an accessory slot that most people will make no use of.

and youre being obsessive if you need to carry around a screen wipe, when youre using the ipad you cant even see any marks. only when its off(dark)

It's £30 for something that feels like £10.

I guess one of the sale assistant went "you got to get an Apple case, it's Apple!" that pushed me away more lol

Ok... Gotta be said, in the few places I have been today 3 kicks the crap out of o2 for 3G coverage ;)

Cheaper and better than the o2 contract and also no need to remember to top up like the cut down o2 sim idea... Seems a win win to me :)

Missus got me a book arc for iPad, goes very well with my book arc for MacBook and means you can use the ipad as a nice photo frame centrepiece on the coffee table will take a pic on the weekend

Does 3 fall back to an EDGE network, then to a GPRS network when out of 3G coverage?

interesting question, I haven't actually seen anything but 3G as of yet but I'll keep an eye out now :)

I'll update in a few days ;)

I have not seen a EDGE symbol being on 3, not even through countrysides. It seems the coverage is either 3G or nothing.

That is why I am with O2 - Three, TMobile etc are useless on trains and in sparsely populated areas.

Read my post in the last page.

It might be where you are but I went from Birmingham to Worcester on the train without dropping a signal on 3, with O2 (which I have a dongle), it drops off everytime so much as i see grass. You can't even get a signal inside New Street Station ! You can with 3.

Quick question for seasoned Apple users...

Having been an Apple / iTunes virgin until I picked an iPad up the other day, I'm still getting used to how it all works.

One thing that's bugging me though is how sluggish iTunes is on my well-specced Windows 7 X64 PC. Scrolling through lists on the store is horrible. Is this normal?

The store is slow because it is completely live I think.
