*** The all new Apple iPad thread - Keep all iPad stuff in here ***

Had my iPad crash last night loading Habor Master HD and then later the WiFi died. Had to disable/enable the setting to get it back. On syncing this morning iTunes wanted to send a crash dump to Apple. Otherwise it's been plain sailing so far ;)

Just phoned up the Regents Street store to see if they had any in stock as I'm getting tired of waiting for the online order. They have no stock of any iPad model now. Shocking really. :(

They can only make so many - the only alternative would have been to delay the launch to stockpile more stock? I still managed to pick one up the day after launch!

Oh no, they very carefully make sure there's just below enough stock, this way it will always look like a high demand product. Sony got this slightly wrong with the PS3 launch, with everywhere still having stock, and pundits started essentially saying "this isn't selling well, see everywhere has stock left" - which made it sell more slowly.

Companies pay a fortune to estimate how much stock they need to create this artificial supply < demand situation. :)

There is that, but also no point in not sellin to the demand since no product to sell = no profit. So they will come into stock.

Nice find Spit.

But it doesnt seem any different in terms of quality playback, its just a pretty front end I guess thats different to the iPhone version.
I guess it would be silly if it was top notch quality ;)
Useful if your on the move though and want to watch something it still works so

When i went to pc world i went onto the iphone tvcatchup website (im guessing iPad one is different then). Quality was still watchable i would say

What kind of protection are people using? I was looking at ordering a foof.

P.s. Getting pretty quick at typing on this thing now!

I've got a foof and it's great for keeping it protected. It depends what you want a case for - if you just want a storage case then I think foof is great. If you want a case to use the iPad in then obviously the foof is no good.

Just a storage for when not using it or carrying it in my bag really, I have one for my iphone - it's great, but I wasn't sure if it would offer as much protection for the larger device that it does doe a small iPhone,

Wow, my 3 sim arrived today, phoning up for activation was as much fun as going to the dentist. I almost gave up on principle, don't see why we have to give so much information.

Didn't get off to a great start when she asked me what my imei number is for the iPad then telling me it's wrong and should start with a '3'..

Man, sounds like a lot of you have had a hard time signing up. With orange, it literally took me a few minutes over the phone and it was sweet as a nut.

I signed with O2 originally,at the apple shop using the iPad, that was so straightforward. But from other peoples experiences and some of my own recently,I decided to switch. Never had much problem in Manchester with o2 with my phone but the 3 g is what u need. And 3 is suppose to be the best.

Question now is what do I get my dad on, I can't Imagine him having the patience to go thru all that. He's one of those who'd rather pay more for simplicity and less grief.
