*** The all new Apple iPad thread - Keep all iPad stuff in here ***

so how well do magazine PDFs look and work on the ipad ??? got about 2 years worth of PHotography mags saved as pdfs :D saved some to my idisk and the iphone only loads the smaller (30mb limit on the iphone) but the viewing is choppy

With Goodreader, superb!!

Go

Just put my vodaphone sim in, with the help of some scissors and a nail file. It's pretty close to the goldy bits along the sides but works fine, no 3G here but wasn't really expecting it. D

I think I need a case just to put me on until the dodo case arrives.. But as the sim is none expiry I'm in no rush to take out and about. :)

Are any APN settings needed for the 3 microsim? Just noticed it's blank in cellular data.

Don't have a clue what Three need, but my O2 Pay-as-you-go SIM (with the assistance of a stanley knife!) has been working fine for three weeks with no APN settings at-all.

Have Three got their arses in gear yet? Once they have I'm gonna activate my Three SIM and switch to using that.

Lets just say in the last week i've been in

Birmingham - Great signal (no surprise)
Cardiff - Great signal (no surprise)
Hay-on-wye - Great Signal !!! (surprise, 02 is only edge there)
Hereford - Great Signal (no surprise)

This is the best bit, trains between Cardiff to Birmingham and Hereford, through fields, farms, towns and cities in between, signal all the way except the very few odd moments, i.e. tunnels and some blank spots.

I can't see any other provider topping that tbh.

In gear how?

Customer service for setting up the SIM.

Theres been pages over on MR of people saying what I hassle it was, whereas with my O2 PAY-G SIM it was literally cut the SIM to fit, put it in the iPad, go to the O2 website and put credit on, and then bam it was instantly working.

No spending 2 hours on the phone to a bunch of useless Indians or anything!

its not 2 hours, but do give it at least 20 minutes, and i had a nice girl with an south african accent on the phone.

They just ask a lot of questions, and need spelling of everything.

It is worth it though. 10G for £15 !

Mine took 15minutes over the phone and i wouldn't say it was a lot of trouble.
I was online within 90minutes so i would say i had a good customer service experience.

Must say the south african guy who dealt with me was polite and helpful.

If your waiting for that to be resolved then that seems a pretty daft reason for holding back registering tbh. As i doubt Three will change that anytime in the next few weeks. lol.
