*** The all new Apple iPad thread - Keep all iPad stuff in here ***

Just an update on the iPad.

It is as fluid and intuitive as the videos have shown.
Screen is stunning, it's that vibrant it looks like a glossy magazine.
I took it off charge about 6 hours ago and i have used it for 3.5-4 hours this evening and my battery says 75% left. Push email is on, screen at 50% with auto brightness on.
I have not reached for my laptop at all this evening.
So far it is everything i hoped it would be.

Well my conversion to apple is complete now. I have an iPhone, iPad and iMac. No Microsoft products at all now. Loving it.

What did you put the shipping as on the buy for me form?
I did it as free, as I thought this was for the apple to US shipping?
So I paid 599 dollars for a 32gb and looking to pay for international shipping when it arrives there
hope I did it right

I have one on it's way from NYC.Tracking says it left the US yesterday afternoon their time.Don't know how much of delay the ash will cause

So let me get this straight...

UK Claimed

USA Genuine

Ouch. My Dad and a colleague are going to the USA (can't remember which state though) in the beginning of May... mmm iPad 3G...

One thing to note though, the USA prices definitely do not include sales tax as that varies state by state (well cities really) but the published Apple UK prices always include VAT. However... that UK image came from a Gibraltar reseller... and Gibraltar doesn't have VAT....

EDIT: Looking through their website they charge £1539 for the 2.53GHz i7 15" £1649 MBP. But (hoping my maths is right) £1649 inc would be £1403.40 ex .... Hmm...

I'm really hoping that they are either wrong or quoting the UK inc VAT prices... as if they are the UK ex VAT prices  .....

It actually comes to about £550 all in including delivery and customs for 32gb which according to the rumored UK prices is not too bad at all.
I meant the UK prices really. Do you even get a warranty on a US-sourced iPad?

LOL!!!!111
I thought it was pretty obvious but I'll spell it out for you - US pays $499, we pay £599 - for the same product. I guess you're perfectly happy with that though. Would you like a kick in the balls to go with it? I can wear some Apple branded boots if it helps.

Out of idle curiousity how much higher could Apple price it before you started to even consider whether you were possiby being exploited at all - £699? £799?
