The AMD Driver Thread

@AMDMatt

Did you check that FOV setting in Dying Light? Also, please check my thread (2 pages) if you have time. Thank you sir.

Yes, it appears I'm using the setting +16. I might have to revisit that as I'm not sure if i should increase it as I'm running at 4K.

Warsam71 is the official AMD community manager on Overclock.net by the way, so he'll be able to respond to any posts there.

I do see a slight drop from 60fps at 1440P while running around the city by the way, i think it's just the game so i wouldn't worry about swapping out your cpu.

Matt - is there any reason to use these drivers with xfire 7970s or am I best sticking with 14.12 omegas? I'm presuming outside of some crossfire profiles the development in drivers is now aimed at newer cards.

Yes, upgrade. This new driver had several new Crossfire profiles added as well as performance improvements to many existing profiles.

Are we getting a new set of drivers today or are the 15.3 beta the drivers to use for the new 3DMark test releasing this afternoon? (API Overhead feature test for DirectX 12 & Mantle)

In the meantime I need to get windows10 ready for it.

We have a DirectX 12 driver already on Windows 10 available Via Windows Update.

For Windows 8.1 (Mantle + DX11) 15.3 is the driver to use.

Sorry to hijack.

Matt was BF4 working fully and supporting 4 cards please? Get my second card tomorrow but briefly saw someone struggling with mantle on quad setup?

Many thanks :D

QuadFire on Mantle in Battlefield 4 and Hardline is not working presently, something changed in the Winter update patch. Dice have been notified so we're hoping for it to be addressed in a future game update. QuadFire works fine under DirectX 11 though.

Ahhh cool I actually don't know the difference between the two so as long as I can play smoothly im a happy man :D

QuadFire is not really needed in Battlefield 4 at 1440P, but you can always default to DX11 if Mantle QuadFire is not working. Choice is good.

Choosing to ignore this one Matt?

Unable to talk about this as the developer has asked us not to reveal details, sorry. Just wait and see. :)

Probably going to be another crappy port then.

Where can i download Win10 drivers Matt? The ones i got through windows update won't want to work with DX12.

These are the ones it downloaded:

Drop me a trust benny and I'll take a look at it Monday morning. Attach your DXDIAG.TXT report to the mail please.

Matt I've just got MSI afterburner to show statics in game (wouldn't work before for some reason) its frigging awesome!!!

I couldn't live without it. :D

I even have the cpu/gpu temps displaying on my Logitech G19 keyboard so i can monitor these things in Mantle games. :)

Anything on my DX12 issue, Matt?

Sent you another email as i don't have any information of what the problem is other than the driver does not work too well.

Done a google search for "Max Payne 3 crossfire" and all that came up were problems and how poor the scaling was compared to SLI.

Not holding my breath for GTA

Are you sure? QuadFire works well in this game which means Crossfire and TriFire will work just as well, if not better.

@Matt - Any news on the Dying Light CF issue matey? Couple of my mates have now bought and we're fancying some action... don't fancy turning off my cards just to get it running without flickers etc...

Important Note:
The AMD CrossFire™ profile for Dying Light is currently disabled in this driver while AMD works with Techland to investigate an issue where AMD CrossFire configurations are not performing as intended. An update is expected on this issue in the near future through an updated game patch or an AMD driver posting.

No update from the release notes yet.

The game contains surfaces which are unfriendly towards Crossfire, this is why you see flickering. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do until the issue is corrected in a game patch, at this point we'll enable the profile in our drivers.

Is yours the ntl world email? Seems to have ended up in spam. Sent you an email.

Hi Ben,

DX12 is not yet supported on CrossFire in the API overhead test with the 15.20.1012.2 driver. It should work with CrossFire disabled or one GPU only though. :)
