All hail AMDMatt we trusted your word and it came true
Thanks, would never intentionally mislead anyone.
Now let's get that GTA V benchmark thread running Kaapstad, my Quad 290X's are ready to shine.
Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.
All hail AMDMatt we trusted your word and it came true
matt will u be trying out some gta?
i want to see some benchmarks at 4k
Not everyone, can't turn the pc off now.
Some of us want to use some multisampling to reduce juggles.
It's not purely a frame rate thing for me. I can play inquisition maxed at 40fps and be happy.
Elite can certainly use the performance in asteroid belts though. It's not smooth in them. And i have already dropped settings a bit to try and compensate.
No, PC is overclocked on the CPU but it is definitely not unstable. Can run every gam & program without issue and my PC can shut down successfully under every previous AMD driver release.
Did another uninstall/reinstall and that's solved it. I don't have any overclocks on the GPU's anyway. The temps of the card were sitting nicely.
Driver is absolutely fantastic. Well done Matt and the rest of the driver team!

you had a chance to play gta yet?
it needs mods but looks like it runs great
MKX has some online lag but more fun to watch i think
I'll test Dying Light later and see what's what. Can I ask, I remember you stating that there may need to be a patch to enable CF properly due to the way they display textures? What exactly has the "better Dying Light" profile done? I'll find out later
Matt, is it still the plan that there will be a driver release in April with the xfire Freesync update? I love my new BenQ monitor but am itching to try out Freesync now as well
Matt, I'm still having issues with the corruption in the bottom right-hand corner. The problems in the video have disappeared. Also seen another person in the official GTA thread with the same issue.
MSAA appears to be the culprit. Disabled all AA and it disappeared. Enabled FXAA and reflection AA and it stayed away. Enabled MSAA and it came back.
Think my post disappeared into the AMD Driver thread abyss.
Hi Superpatsy I have exactly the same issue, so running without MSAA at the moment. No biggy, as I want 60fps and FXAA is enough for me at 1080p. I am also getting a few nasty stutters when driving but that is probably my 4gb system ram.
Win7 64, I5 2500k 4.2ghz, 4gb ram, R9 280X.
I did have a latency issue once, it was mainly audio popping during video playback or gaming. What resolved it for me was going into the mobo bio's and disabling all CPU power saving features and that fixed it and I never had the issue again.
May have been asked before, but has anyone been having issues with VRAM in GTA V with crossfire enabled?
I have 2 Sapphire Tri-X r9 290s with 4GB VRAM, on a fresh install of Win8.1 with the 15.4 beta driver, and playing at 1080p @ 120Hz. In game settings are a mix of high/very high with FXAA and both MSAA turned off.
With one card enabled the VRAM in GTA V is ~ 2.4/4GB, in game with afterburner it never exceeds 3GB and the frame rate is a steady 90-100.
If I enable crossfire for my second card GTA V reports 4.7/8GB in use, and VRAM usage in afterburner is between 5.5-6.5GB despite the cards only having 4. With two cards enabled the frame rate is much worse, and it constantly freezes as textures are loaded. GPU usage is ~40% on each.

Would you be able to help me AMDMatt?
Using 2x HD7850 2GB. In Dying Light single gpu performance has improved somewhat since release, but crossfire isn't scaling at all for me using 15.4 either. Awesome drivers for GTA V though!
Matt I noticed something odd last night.
While playing Mortal combat X gpu clock is all over the place from 850mhz to 1150 and cause of that fps is all over ther place. Its stable 60 and then drops to 40 cause clock drops.
Not sure if its game or driver issue just pointing it out.
btw. In benchmarks 1150 all the time. OFC new drivers ect
update typical new game ****up ...

I downloaded and installed these last night, and I have to say I've not noticed much of a difference over the 14.2 Omega Drivers, but on my setup the game ran and still runs Super Smooth anyway.
For the record I've got my graphics settings maxed out apart from 'MSAA' which is set to off, as is 'Reflection MSAA' and I've got Soft Shadows set to AMD CHS.
I've also got the 'Advanced Graphics' options set to off, but am getting a constant 60+ FPS and that's even in the grassy, hilly, Mountains. To say I'm chuffed is an understatement, and to think I even bought an additional 7970 Matrix Platinum to max this game (I've not even installed it yet, lol).
Well done AMD on some awesome Graphics Drivers and also to Rock* for a superbly optimized game
Matt, I have a question, which I think's already been answered if I'm honest, but if I turn MSAA to on (no matter whether it's 2x, 4x or 8x) it causes some on screen glitching/ corruption, as in some sort of snowy square blocks appear in the bottom right corner of the screen (obviously this isn't meant to be there), so I simply run with MSAA off.
I know you'll be working on trying to fix this but is this something that many others have reported, and is there a reason for this (running gout of VRAM etc, as I'm aware my 7970 is only a 3gb card, but GTAV reports it's using under 3gb anyway.
