*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

Indeed.

The funny thing is, is that graph also shows the 3070/3070ti as the same/a bit faster than the previous top card (2080ti).

The 5xxx series is seriously awful.
This is why AMD bringing similar performance for a bit cheaper assuming the price is above $650 is not a win for consumers, less bad doesn’t equal good.

I considering a 7700XT also, but they're still £380. I could have got a 7800XT for £400 new, so 7700XT isn't exactly a bargain

No, it's not.

But given someone bagged a 7900 XTX off the clearance section for £600 last week, I wonder if a cheeky offer on a b-grade 7700 XT, 7800 XT or 6800 etc. might be accepted? It's that, a B580, or wait for the 9060 cards.

$499 9070
$599 9070 XT

This is the maximum they should be to be considered a win. Even $50 more for each will be a meh moment. They need to be aiming for minimum 20% better price/perf compared to NVIDIA’s MSRP (fake or not). 25% better price/perf would be ideal.

If they really want to win, then $470 and $570 or less.

My best guess for pricing:
Base models $/£:
9070XT: 624.99
9070: 549.99, (possibly 560)

I think I will probably be doing something similar or looking 2nd hand. I can't see even the non XT 7090 being low enough priced with the performance numbers being talked about. I see AMD cards now have a game offer listed. I wonder whether that is to encourage clearance of old stock.

It's kind of strange that there is excitement for something that offers nothing new or groundbreaking. Don't get me wrong, having a good performing card at a fair price is a nice prospect, but the level of hype is odd to me.

Anyone of us could have bought a 4080 or 7900xtx within the last year or so at a price not too dissimilar to what I expect is going to be announced tomorrow.

It's not exactly life changing is it lol.
I think people that want to FOMO in need to take a good look at that FSR4.0 support list. If the game you are into or, want to play is on that list, its likely there is a surprise in store when the 7900XTX comparison is done against the 9070XT.

This will be for people who would not buy an Nvidia card but want better RT and much better upscaling tech.

The excitement is related to people hoping we finally get a decent price. But Gibbo took a great big dump over that today which has killed some of that excitement.

XTX performance rehashed in the 9070XT should be not more than £400-500 as per previous gen releases (7800xt (aka the REAL 7700XT) 98% of a 6900xt/3080 at £500, 6700xt similar perf to a 2080ti for £479 need I go on lol).

Don’t know why everyone is willing to pay £600 for something that should cost tops £500.

Same thing I ask myself why are people paying well above MSRP for 5080 and £900+ for 5070ti when you could have got that with 4080 super, just have to peak into the pre order Nvidia thread
