go for the "Eden Of The East: The Definitive Collection" and not "Eden Of The East". reason being one is just the tv series while the other is the tv series, ova and squeal movies what finish up the story.

Eden Of The East: The Definitive Collection (tv, ova, movie's)
Eden Of The East (TV series only)

p.s. it been announce that Psycho pass which was going to be released in the uk in two parts is now going to be release in one complete package in September.

I'm currently watching a bit of anime on the side, although my time is limited as I'm getting married in 2 weeks.
Watching ZOE very slowly, and also skip watching Dragonball Z Kai just to work out why people go on about it (frankly I'm not seeing the appeal, it's lots of extremely prolonged screaming in most cases, Naruto for all it's faults has a much more developed story at least).

I've got quite a backlog to watch after but it's kind of a case of when I can! I simply don't have enough time in the day around home life, working a lot (my average week recently has been 50-60 hours in some cases) and trying to fit in my other hobbies etc

Personally I preferred Rahxephon to Evangelion (lots of people say rahxephon ripped off evangelion - can't see it myself though), Evangelion just didn't do it for me in either film or series..

As to 'awesome' films/series it really does depend on your taste :)

Alexrose - completely agree about dragonball Z kai (well any of them lol) , it doesn't really seem to have anything going for it...

What makes me laugh is that Kai is supposed to be the 'director's cut' with the filler removed, yet lots of events seem to take episodes and episodes, ergo hours and hours to unfold, when there's just absolutely no need.

I hate to think of how bloated and drawn out the original probably was...

I also watched Here and Now, Then and There fairly recently...now that was a different watch...pretty bleak. Not sure if I actually enjoyed it or not!

I originally watched Dragon Ball Z when I was about 9-10, and I never realised how drawn out it was until I watched it again a few years ago, however it has NOTHING on Naruto, as much as I enjoy it, it can be really tedious. I stopped watching Naruto for almost a year, and when I caught back up on it, barely anything had happened.

You mean there are actually people that are happy with dubs?:D

Some dubs are good, and I might even say better. I can't handle the original voices of DBZ, with how the majority of the characters are voiced by Women, it just sounds so wrong.

I also prefer the dubs of Cowboy Bebop, and Samurai Champloo, though it's not common I do prefer a dub, it does sometimes happen.

Yeah I'm like you in that I hate it when they draw out a series, I've been watching hunter x hunter (the new version) and the last arc (chimera ants) just seemed to drag on and on, what took around 30 episodes (30 weeks) could have been covered in 10 episodes easily.

Then you get series that drag on just to fill a 12 episode series... dragonar academy looked good on paper but was pretty much 3-4 'episodes' spread over 11 episodes and then the poor final event rushed into 1 episode when it could have had 2 or 3 devoted to it.

I think I've watched too much anime and I'm starting to see just how bad some of the new stuff is, this season had some really good synopsis' but the shows turned out really bad in some cases.

Is it too much to ask for a series that actually keeps me interested and makes me want to come back lol

Having said that I did enjoy Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou (The Kawai Complex Guide to Manors and Hostel Behavior), not the most original plot but I kept wanting to watch the next episode so it must have had something right lol

A couple of things actually work ok in English....I prefer vandread in English to Japanese and Rahxephon's english dub is actually one of the better ones I've heard.

Congratulations :)

Thanks! :)

@spoffle.
Possibly I'm looking back and not realising it, I may also have skipped some filler, not sure now, I'm also not up to date with Shippuuden having only seen to about where a certain character 'croaks' (not wanting too be too obvious incase anyone else is watching right now and isnt that far in), that said, even the longer fights in it I don't remember lasting more than a few episodes. Even in DBZ Kai, the Freeza fight is...20+ episodes?! Or so it felt like.
That's just insane. Naruto may have had filler, but it never had any single event/fight drawn out that far that I remember, even if it had longer arcs that took ages to go anywhere, at least smaller stuff happens even if nothing too important. Obviously excluding filler arcs, as DBZ Kai is meant to have had the out-and-out filler removed anyway.

I honestly reckon the voice actors for DBZ must have cracked up laughing given how much yelling thier roles consist of at times.

@Neil
Beck also has a very good dub, as does Black Lagoon.
Beck especially suits the english, as some of the songs were in english with heavy japanese accents in the original dub, so it's smoother on the ears arguably.

Personally I have a soft spot for the dub for Full Metal Panic, I think because it was one of the first series that I watched and I saw it first dubbed.

Currently re-watching the first season of Love Live ('cos it made little impression so I need to skim through it so I can watch the second season) and watching through Black Bullet which is better than I was expecting.
