The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Thanks! :)

@Spoffle.
Possibly I'm looking back and not realising it, I may also have skipped some filler, not sure now, I'm also not up to date with Shippuuden having only seen to about where a certain character 'croaks' (not wanting too be too obvious incase anyone else is watching right now and isnt that far in), that said, even the longer fights in it I don't remember lasting more than a few episodes. Even in DBZ Kai, the Freeza fight is...20+ episodes?! Or so it felt like.
That's just insane. Naruto may have had filler, but it never had any single event/fight drawn out that far that I remember, even if it had longer arcs that took ages to go anywhere, at least smaller stuff happens even if nothing too important. Obviously excluding filler arcs, as DBZ Kai is meant to have had the out-and-out filler removed anyway.

I honestly reckon the voice actors for DBZ must have cracked up laughing given how much yelling thier roles consist of at times.

@Neil
Beck also has a very good dub, as does Black Lagoon.
Beck especially suits the english, as some of the songs were in english with heavy japanese accents in the original dub, so it's smoother on the ears arguably.

I never noticed just how drawn out Naruto was until I caught up to the airing schedule, and when I had to watch it weekly, it was just painful. I was quite a few years late to starting Naruto, so I had a good few hundred episodes to get through so I never noticed as I could watch it at my leisure.

I'm currently watching a bit of anime on the side, although my time is limited as I'm getting married in 2 weeks.

Congratulations:)

I managed to watch the Girls Und Panzer OVa's this week, which was good :)
Re Evangelion 3.33 I think we're getting in about feb, as I'm sure I got an email from amazon with the new date the other day (although they could be wrong, as could my memory).

I picked up a nexus 32gb which arrived yesterday so I spent a good portion of last night playing with it, setting it up with a wifi file manager programme (so I can transfer stuff to it via my home network), and getting media import so I can use one of my many, many, memorysticks with a otg cable as well.
First impressions are that it looks great with anime and films, so I can see it being a handy way to help overcome at least some of my backlog as it's much easier to take a table to watch when waiting to pick someone up than a laptop :)

I'm guessing you already are, but MX Player can play a lot of Hi10p files reasonably well now, on a powerful enough tablet. I know I can play a lot of 720p pretty fluidly and some 1080p on my Kindle Fire HDX, not sure how powerful the Nexus 32GB is comparatively. Only downside is it has a pretty small network cache, so sometimes it struggles with high bitrate peaks that can be handled if the file is aboard the device.

I think Baytrail based tablets are meant to be even better :)

E-Strongs file explorer can run network shares as well, so for some media you may not even have to transfer it :)

It's getting better and better for anime on the move!

Cheers, I've got mx player on the thing (it and vlc were about the first two apps loaded), I'll look at E-strongs as well:)

Aye, I remember looking at dvd/divx players for the car a couple of years back and deciding not to as I've never had much luck with dvd players with divx etc (we've had a couple, but the manufacturers seem to drop support quickly and you always seem to end up with files that don't want to play nicely for one reason or another).

It's short handed as ES File Explorer. I have network shares on my network from my main HTPC which has the majority of my storage, and use ES to navigate the files, and then I can just select to open a file with MXPlayer :)
I keep thinking I should get an OTG memory stick/cable to try at some point, as I have plenty of USB sticks I could use and it'd get around the cache/local bandwidth issue mentioned above :)

Edit: NVM, OTG is apparently disabled on the Kindles...

+1 for ES File Explorer, I use it on my HTC M8 for transferring things on and off my home lan.

Finished Black Bullet the other day, overall I'd say it was a lot better than I was expecting really. Bit surprising at times but generally a nice action series.

With the new just starting series I enjoyed the first episode of Glassip, you can see immediately it's a P A Works series :). I thought that first episode of Rail Wars was quite good as well.

That ES explorer is awesome :D

It's letting me access everything I have shared on the home network:D

I'm probably going to look at getting one of the small wifi hotspot/file server thingies (I thinky you can get some that take memory cards/usb, as well as with built in HDD's), as that may well be easier to use than the OTG cable, especially for in the car :)

If you like Attack on Titan and Sidonia no Kishi, you will like this.

Let the massacre begin!

:D:eek:

Having seen all of them.... I'm just not really seeing the similarity if I'm honest lol

I suppose attack on titan has a similar look and 'monsters' but sidonia no kishi.... but it has potential from the first episode.

I will say that the first episodes from DRAMAtical Murder (seems a bit like
C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control) and Tokyo Ghoul (seems a bit like corpse bride meets 'ghoul anime') so I'm hoping they head in the right direction :)

It also seems like Aldnoah Zero and Argevollen (the 2 mecha series for the season) are going to be a let down :(

tokyo ghoul might be worth a viewing... well if you can live with the black censoring... it's not just glare or steam now it's blackout too lol Muv Luv had the same issue :o

Two animes I currently recommend are

Tokyo Ghoul & Akame ga kill

That's if you like gorish anime, which I certainly do :)

Appleseed Alpha

Dubbed (not nice) Trailer here -
never seems to like me adding a youtube vid... so here's the link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNDb2J6DIwg

Not sure I like the look of Duenan or the 'american styling to the cg' and it makes the timeline of the original films so screwed up, even with it being an alternative reality story lol.

I'll watch it because I rate appleseed and ex machina as two of my fave cg anime but if it's anything like the car crash which was XIII (same person involved) then I'm not holding out much hope, especially with myanime panning it :o

They love that 'tube' hairstyle in Japan these days lol

Maybe they are hinting that hair style is just a bit gay lol

Are there any other more modern animes like Tokyo Ghoul and Akame Ga Kill?
