The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

I think the books have only just gone past the TV series (Town of Strife was IIRC the last part of season 2, and that was about book 8 or 9).

I've actually got to read the books, I've been buying them as they're released but only read the first one:o
Which reminds me, have they stopped doing the jackets for the books, as I realised the last few haven't had them (or at least my copies from Amazon haven't).

And on a totally different note, I just spotted that TRSI have Princess 9 up for pre-order, which is pretty awesome :) (it was one of those anime series that completely surprised me with how good, and much fun it was).
I'm tempted to order it as I know that at least one of my old ADV discs was suffering from rot/issues, and I ended up paying almost as much for a replacement as I did for the original bundle (and TRSI have the new collection up for $24 at the moment, plus shipping which puts it at under the customs limit).

I managed to find time to watch the second half of Last Exile: Fam the Silver Wing over the weekend, which was good :)
I liked they way they kept a similar feel to the original series (despite it being something like 10 years between them), and it was nice to see some of the original characters back.

I'm going to try for Wolf Children or Arakawa under the Bridge x Bridge this week, but not betting on it (I seem to be constantly chronically short of time, despite in theory having loads of spare time).
I've still not finished getting my DVD's sorted (about two weeks now), although I am getting there, with 100+ cases for the loft, and a similar number for the tip/charity shops.

Fate/Stay was from memory good and enjoyable (it's been a few years since I watched it).

Not seen Zero yet though.

Alexrose1uk, I know what you mean, the recap episodes were really annoying (although at least I bought the complete set at a reasonable price, if i'd been buying the singles at initial release it would have really annoyed me), I want to watch it again some time as it's been at least five years since I last saw it, the problem is, I've got no spare time/energy to watch even new stuff at the moment...I still haven't seen Wolf Children....

Reading ANN apparently MVM are looking to do more blu-ray releases here as their new supplier is cheaper :D

I also discovered that Girls Und Panzer is out on blu as well as DVD, but Amazon haven't got the listing up yet! (cancelled my DVD order).

And I finally got round to watching Wolf Children which was very good I think, I'm looking forward to getting the manga through in a few weeks :)

It probably gave them the idea for their stuff ;)

That's a nice shirt, although not one I'd wear (or buy at that price  especially with the customs hit   ).

I'm finally getting my anime DVD's nearly sorted, but need more Kassette boxes from Ikea (they're good for normal height cases, although I have put a sheet of bubble wrap in the front/back), it's only taken me about a month to sort my collection, get the drawers roughly organised and the disks into boxes...

I just managed to fit in watching "Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt" on blu-ray*, which was very silly, very rude, very crude and very funny :)
I think South Park (at it's funniest/rudest), meets Powerpuff girls, meets Gainax is probably the best way to describe it :)

I'm probably going to try and find the time to watch either "Durururururururururura" or "Arakawa under the bridge x bridge" in the next few days, if nothing goes wrong, no ones ill, and the house doesn't burn down :p (it feels that for the past few months pretty much everything has gotten in the way of anime/tv viewing).

*I bought the original DVD release but had to return it because it had the ends of several episodes missing, and then finally bought the Blu-ray about 4 weeks ago I think.

I made a start on Durarara last night which is looking interesting so far :)

I also received my Princess 9 set (with OST) from TRSI, so I'm quite looking forward to watching that again :)
And knowing that I've got a set that shouldn't rot out :)

argh, so they're going to re-author the blu-rays as well then?

Hopefully they'll put up some sort of contact form or announce details on how to exchange discs if they do (I've got the set here, just watched disc one the other night).

*mumbles something about Bubblegum crisis* ;)

Bubblegum Crisis (original) is really quite good, it's an oldie, but still IMO one of the best OVA series :) (there are clips on youtube, mainly of the BCG 2032 and 2033 music segments from the DVD's that had the songs set to clips), it's a little hard to describe except think an anime set in something like the world of Blade Runner, but with more violently corrupt corporations and much more heavily armed police force.
Freedom is a nice series, about a space colony and the youths...
Eden of the East is very good, and you can get the comple series + film cheap now on blu ray.
Perfect Blue is a good thriller.
Which leads on to Paprika (same director), which is also good.

If you can find it, Macross Plus is good, with a pretty awesome soundtrack (something most of the Macross anime have in common, which isn't surprising given the fact the franchise relies heavily on the idea of music as part of human culture*).

For more Ghibli, I strongly recommend Porco Russo, The Cat Retuns and Whisper of the Heart (Whisper is not one that I thought I'd like anything like as much as i did).
*If that makes sense, I've been up most of the night :p

I think this is the third time I've used it :)

It's interesting that the Ultimate set will (if they have any left over) get a release with an SRP of over £80, which I suspect won't give alltheanime any more than they're getting from the kickstarter deal from what I understand of the sort of amount that normally filters back to the publisher.

I may watch Poppy Hill on Sunday, although probably the Blu-ray:)

I think Satan may be in need of a new set of ice skates, Viz have announced not only the new Sailor Moon series, but that they've got the rights to all of the older ones, and will be doing a new uncut dub for them.

Not my cup of tea, but one of those series that it seemed no one in the west would ever manage to get the rights to again.
