The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Arrietty is not one of the best Ghibli films but holds a certain place in my heart (I grew up near the house the original book is based in). Last time I was near it I noticed the local council had done some street art relating to it, by way f painted shadows for some posts which included a cat leaning against the shadow post and little figures on the top of the shadow post (unless you're looking you'll miss it, and unless you know the area you won't get the reference).

I'd wholeheartedly second memyselfandi and most of andarial's suggestions.

Will they have a larger selection than Crunchyroll?

It would depend on how much of their catalogue Funi have the rights to stream here.
If they were to put up some of the older titles they inherited from the likes of Bandai and ADV it could be quite a lot.

Re Love Hina and Oh My Goddess, definitely classics, although I think both the original OVA/Movie and TV series of OMG have aged better than Love Hina in terms of animation (and the LH music whilst I used to not mind it, the op/end drove me nuts last time I watched it).

I managed to sit down and watch Eva 3.33 earlier and was a little confused (mind you that's my default state at the moment:p).

I think I'm going to have to watch the first two films again in the near future then watch the third again straight after.
I guess that's what happens when you watch the third part of a series about 3 years after part 2.

I keep meaning to watch Unlimited Blade Works as I really enjoyed the original.
I'm also going to have to watch One Punch Man as people keep telling me it's good.

Is anyone backing the Riding Bean kickstarter (about 36 hours left)?
I've joined for a basic set, but depending on how things work out in the next few weeks will (all going well) upgrade to the version with the car model.
Which means I'm currently 3 for 3 on Animiego kickstarters, and will probably be 3 for 3 on the premium with extras with luck.

I finally managed to get round to watcing Sword Art Online Season 1 the other day, which was very good :)
I'm going to try and watch the second season some time soon.

In case anyone is interested Zavvi are doing the LE of elfen lied on Blu-ray for £18, and various other offers at the moment :)

I really should get the Second Raid on BD, I've got all of it on DVD, and the first two seasons on BD but not the third.
I was sorely tempted by the UK complete set, but couldn't justify £100+ on something I'd already got on DVD and two thirds on BD.

I saw on AOD that we're finally getting a blu-ray of "only Yesterday" in August :)
I think that's about the only Ghibli I haven't got on blu-ray yet.

My Otaku No Video kickstarter has shipped :)

I ended up going with the premium version with model and large book add-ons.

I'm still debating adding the car to the Riding Bean one, if just because I could use the car in wargames as either scenery or an objective.

The ebay seller from Malaysia is almost certainly a hokey copy.
The fact it's region free is usually a very big indicator of it being an unlicensed release (and depending on who made the disk it may be little better than a poorly encoded fansub).

Depending on the anime there may or may not be BD releases, DVD is still considerably cheaper to author and replicate than DVD (there are far more DVD facilities for example).

If you look at www.animenewsnetwork.com they normally list any English language distribution including streaming.
It looks like there is/was a simulcast/streaming with up to 1080 quality and English subs, but I'm not sure if it's still there.

I may have gone slightly mad (again), I just ordered the Escaflowne set from All the Anime, I remember the series being pretty good, and the set includes the directors cut versions, film and OST's (which I remember being good).

Mind you I've been a good boy this year with anime and only spent about £30-40 a month on it, if that :)
Mainly as I've not enough time to sit and watch it- I'm managing about two episodes of something/anything a day at best (I'm also running very low on storage space)

From memory their subs are ok, not quite as good as AnimEigo, but then no manages them as well (and some of the biggest studios are absolutely disgraceful in their subs - pure white is great on dark scenes, utterly unreadable on light scenes).

I bought the Perfect Vision set with the figure, but not the VHS :)
I actually ended up with two sets due to a mistake in my orders, but sold the second one straight away.

Argh, I know exactly the anime you're talking about, I would have said Air or Kanon* but you've ruled them out.
IIRC the girl is a genius (didn't have to go to regular classes but would sit in the old library?) or something but her parents died in an air crash, I can picture it and there was I think something about a briefcase of her father's that eventually made it back to her.

I think I've got it on DVD, so I'll try looking through my list and see if it rings a bell.

I don't think it's EF as I watched that fairly recently and can't remember that from it.

*Possibly the original 2002 version

I'm finally managing to watch some Anime again for the first time in a month or more and decided to sit down for some "School Live" which I've been meaning to watch for an age, and I'm enjoying it as a slightly different take on a couple of genres.

Having received my replacement disc from Technicolour during the week I've just watched "When Marnie was there", which was very good with a couple of surprises.

I'm planning on watching some of my old favourites over the next couple of weeks as I've finally got round to buying FLCL, Cowboy Bebop and Fate Stay on BD (and Escaflowne turned up yesterday).

Stiens Gate is very good :)

My current Disc watch list is.
