The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

I just spotted on ANN that sy-fi are showing some anime over the next few weeks.

January 7 - Akira, 11.10 p.m.

January 14 - Ninja Scroll, 11.10 p.m.

January 21 - The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, 11.10 p.m.

January 28 - Redline, 11.10 p.m.

February 4 - Summer Wars, 11.10 p.m.

February 11 - The Wolf Children, 11.10 p.m.

I saw a review of it and i'm sort of in two minds about watching it, as it seems like it's a biut too far.

I had a shipping confirmation for the new Claymore BD set today so that should arrive tomorrow or Saturday at a guess, I still haven't managed to read the complete manga box that I bought over a year ago though.

Anime Limited have just announced they've got Martian Successor Nadesico and will be releasing it on BD here.

Depending on price I may well go for it, as it's a favourite of mine, even if it does mean I'll then have it at least 4 times.

Aye price is probably going to be the decider, although hopefully they'll do an offer when ordering it direct like they did with Claymore, FMP, Escaflowne and Aldnoah.

Checking my anime collection list I've already got it as
The Austrailian DVD's - about a tenner each back in 2002
The UK ADV complete collection - £8, I picked it up from a short lived DVD outlet in Milton Keynes (who I think must have bought up stock for clearance as it was a large store that was only there for about 6 months and didn't have much of any 1 title) around 2006
The TRSI remastered set in 2012.

Ran through Robotic;Notes yesterday ... not a bad little series.

I quite enjoyed it, I'm probably going to order choas;head from amazon in the US soon as it's about £16 delivered (£11ish for the actual BD) and it's region free.

The UK DVD seems to be long out of print, but it, Robotics Notes and Steins Gate are all part of the same universe.

Dude ive got Chaos;Head here on bluray if you want it, i ordered it from Japan for silly amount of money, ive ripped it and added it to my collection, so its on my shelf literally collecting dust.

i love the ";" series, there is another one called Chaos;Child i think it was, but not very decent ratings, but ill wait till its finished and watch it regardless.
Cheers for the offer, it turns out one of the guys I play with has a copy he's going to loan me :)

For anyone who likes Full Metal Panic, all the anime are doing the first three seasons* on offer as a blu-ray set for £40, but it's limited to 300 sets (the seasons are about £25 each).

*There is going to be a forth at some point from memory.

You don't really ruin the story watching out of total order as long as you remember GITS:SAC is separate to GITS movies (think of Standalone Complex as being a TV reboot), and watch the various parts in the right name order (if that makes sense, so GITS movies 1 then 2, or SAC series 1 then 2 then SAC movie, and Arise in the right internal order).
I've watched them in release order and they work that way :)

Pretty much any dvd or bd of anime sold in the west will have the subbed version, most also have a dub as well.
They don't usually do sub only releases as they don't sell well, and AFAIK have never done a sub and a dub version (as DVD's can have mutliple audio and subtitle streams), unless it's a case of a sub version coming out then a "hybrid" version with both options later.

At the moment Season 1, and Season 3 "The second raid" (Fumoffu is between them but not necessarily main story line) are £25 each on Amazon with Fumoffu coming out in June on it's own.
You can get all three seasons from alltheanime.com for £50 which works out as a big discount as you not only get one season effectively free but get Fumoffu a few months early.

Steins;Gate has several related series, Robotics;notes, chaos;head and I think there is another :)
All slightly different but by the same team from memory.

You might like Durarara! if you haven't seen it, it's got elements of the supernatural and is rather good.

I've been watching one of the late 90's/early 00's classics, namely Escaflowne (series and film), and quite enjoyed them, they're as good as I remembered (I think my tastes have changed a bit), but still enjoyable and the music is better than I remembered.
I'm going to start my Full Metal Panic rewatch tonight or tomorrow, it's been years since I saw it but the clips from Fumoffu still make me laugh, and I really want to watch The Second Raid again (I've only seen it once, separate from the other two series).

It would be great if we do.
Assuming the quality is ok :)

It's a series that I would triple/quad dip on*, even though I've got the US and UK DVD's.
I would love to see an Alltheanime style set with both TV series, the related films, OST's and possibly a nice artbook or something :D

*I bought the US LE's, then the UK LE's and won the UK standard edition colletions:) (I gave my brother one complete run of it).

I've just been watching some of Fumoffu (just got past the Bunta Kun Kommando's episode) and I'd forgotten how funny it was, and how good the music choices for the episodes with things like some music reminiscent of the Terminator
when Sousuke is leading the Bunta Kun team to rescue Chidori and appears out of the smoke in costume.

Aye a new season (it's only been what, 5 years?), I'm hoping they'll be able to get most of the voice cast for both the Japanese and English casts back to reprise their roles.

Fumoffu has some of my favourite comedy moments from any anime (pretty much anything Bunta Kun, and the last episode).

Shamrock, I keep meaning to watch Yokyo Ghoul, but for virtually any manga now I'm going to have to look at getting them via comixology or Book Walker, as I haven't got the room for more books :( (I'm looking at culling my current bookshelves of text titles I can get on kindle), and from what I've seen of it, that's one of the titles I'd probably enjoy the manga for.
