The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Heads up for anyone who has pre-ordered "a silent voice limited edition" directly from Alltheanime, apparently they've had a delay in their own stock (about 3 weeks), but to help make up for it they've included a £10 code for future orders in the email.
Which means that my copy is effectively going to cost me £25, with the posters :) (I'm almost certain to place another order with them in the next few weeks anyway).

alltheanime.com has got Durarara!! x2 (Part 1: Shou) Blu-ray Ltd Collector's Edition for £19.99 & Durarara!! x2 (Part 2: Ten) Blu-ray Ltd Collector's Edition for £34.99 until November 20th.
That's mildy annoying, I've got Shou and paid for Ten (although only a fiver more) about 6 months ago.

I may have had an accident at the weekend involving Eureka Seven....

i finally managed to watch Your Name.

I wish I'd made it to the cinema to see it, it is beautifully made and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
It makes me want to sit down and watch 5cm per second again now (anyone know if it's getting a blu-ray release here?), and reminded me I don't have Guarden of

Yes, it is a truely excellent film (although I would have cut the very end personally). I assume you mean Garden of Words ... it's another good film but share more with 5cm/s in feel than Your Name in my opinion.
.
Aye, I meant Garden of Words (posting when tired...)

It's available, and in stock with a normal 20+% discount, from Amazon JP

That's tempting, although I'm not sure I can justify what would work out at about £40 on it.

Hopefully they'll do a UK release at some point on Blu-ray.

Original language is always best, the last time I heard a good dub was with the Hellsing OVA's.
I vaguely remember the Dub director for that (I can't remember his name) saying how he specifically went with people who were either British or had spent significant amounts of time in the UK for many of the roles as he didn't want to Dick Van Dyke it (or words to that effect).

I'm probably going to make a start on the Akira manga soon, as I had a huge, heavy package containing it arrive the other day.

The first lot of offers are up at All the anime, Escaflowne ultimate edition for £53, Eureka 7 UE for £90, Giovani's Island Ultimate Edtion £10, Terror In Resonance Ultimate Edition £35, and Miss Hokusa Ulitmate edition.

I've got Esflowne and E7, and none of the others really appeal to me at the moment.

That looks like a great visit and I love the idea that they allowed you to take pictures of a display shown in the actual anime :)

I've been watching DuRuRuRuRuRuRuRuRuRuRuRu x10 and really enjoying it, once the final set is out I'm going to watch the whole thing again :)

I received Silent Voice from ATA as well yesterday so that's going to be on the watch list soon, as well as this beauty, which is one of the best/simple bits of anime packaging I've seen :) (it did arrive in an outer cardboard box).

That's a really good price for the Claymore set, unfortunately in my case I bought it last december :( (although it was only £13 more during that pre-order offer).

I need to find the time to read the manga, as I bought the big box collection a while back.

Some nice offers there, although I've got a couple of them already.

I think the only ties they have are that Amazon are probably their single biggest retail outlet, I suspect the reason for the link is because they know people are likely to buy from Amazon anyway (either due to price, or the assurance of buying from a more well known retailer).
When I looked at the link it also appeared to be a referrer one, so ATA are probably getting a bit of commission for sales made via that link.

Often distributors won't be the cheapest for their discs as it tends to upset the retailers, so it's not uncommon for Amazon or other retailers to be cheaper much of the time than the distributor/publisher.

Talking of CEX wanting more second hand than Amazon etc want new, a friend wanted Voices of a Distant Star on Blu-ray the other day, we finally found him a copy from CEX for £35!
i must admit I have had a chuckle at CEX when I went in and found their anime was all more than even HMV.
