The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Today's offers look to be on the rude side of things...

Prison School £20

Yurikuma Arashi £13

And a bundle for £40 with Testament, Highschool DXD, No Rin, Yurikuma Arashi and Daimidaler.

As a break from anime sales, I actually sat down and watched some anime!

Namely the recent Blu-ray release of Matoko Shinkai's "5 centimeters per second", which I don't think I've seen in about 5+ years, I'd forgotten how beautifully it is done, not to mention much of the story
how melancholy the last act is, and how he plays with your expectations in suggesting Takaki and Akari have met/seen each other again
It's interesting having watched several of his films again over the last year seeing how certain themes, shots and ideas are used by him repeatedly but to differing ends, as I can see elements of Your Name, Voices and The Place Promised in our Early days in 5cm.

I'm probably going to end up putting Your Name on again tomorrow, as opposed to the ever increasing stack of new stuff I've not got round to watching (I was looking for something earlier and found 4 of last years bundle anime's* that I've not got round to watching for example)

[edit]
I just went to order the manga of 5cm, looked at the picture on Amazon and thought "I think I've got that", looked to my left and sure enough on the shelf along with a load of other manga I haven't got round to reading was a copy of it:p

*Mainly stuff I wasn't in a massive rush to watch so it got pushed to the back of the "new queue".

I rewatched LH a couple of years back and enjoyed it, but the opening song has not aged well at all...

I'm managing to avoid the fate stuff today, which means so far out of the deals I've only bought Assassination Classroom, although I sort of regret not getting one of the ATA big bundles (but not much as it would mainly have been for a couple of upgrades).

Hiya All
Been a while since i was here :)
Tried rewatching LH a few years back,it had lost the `sparkle`i first had when watching it for the first time many years ago:(
Still quite like the OP though:)

Good to see you again:)

I'm half afraid at times to rewatch some of the older anime for fear of spoiling my memories of it (LH I enjoyed, but nowhere near as much as when I first watched it in about 02).

Looking back at some of the anime I used to enjoy I'm a little embarrassed:p
I still don't know what made me buy Amazing Nurse Nanako for example, except that it was was probably one of the my first Anime buys in about 2003 and I think someone had told me it was good.

Some really nice prices there, and a lot I'd be tempted by if I hadn't already seen/got them.

All The Anime's offers are good today

The bundle is a great deal
- Eureka Seven Ultimate Edition Blu-ray

- Eden of the East Ltd Collector's Ed. Blu-ray

All for £79, as most of those are good to excellent titles and you're getting the collectors/ultimate editions (I paid £100 or so for the Eureka 7 one alone last year which is a really nice set), Eden of the Eats is great as is Patema Inverted, and Bebop is a classic.
If I hadn't got Eureka 7 I'd buy it just for that and give/sell some of the others (as I've already both that Eden of the East set and the old Manga release, and Bebop, and the UE/kickstarter Pateme set).

I would love to get more anime figures, but the cost of the good ones, combined with the fact I don't have anywhere to display them that won't get me mocked by family:p and I already have two expensive plastic habits (one being discs, the other being Warhammer/tabletop gaming*).

Today anime-on-line deals are
Drifters Season 1. DVD £15 Blu-ray £20
Sereph of the End, Part 1. DVD £10 Blu-ray £15
Sereph of the End, Part 2. DVD £10 Blu-ray £15
Heroic legend of Arslan Series 1 Part 1 DVD £10 Blu-ray £15
Heroic legend of Arslan Series 1 Part 2 DVD £10 Blu-ray £15

*I realised how much I'd spent on that this year, and almost fainted:p (I've bought 3 of the boxed games, plus a load of models, and the Hellboy kickstarter with expansion)

Ordered Manquia from today's ATA offering.

Of the rest, I have Angelic Layer (original DVD release and I know I'm already getting this BD release for Christmas), Anthem of the Heart, Silent Voice and the Free set (which came in one of last years bundles). Other than Free (which I haven''t seen) the rest were very good. The other things I'm not interested in.

Pretty much the same here, that Silent Voice is a steal for anyone who hasn't got it.

I don’t have many, may be 3 or 4 proper ones. Only 2 on display on my desk, Elizabeth from Seven Deadly Sins and Ironman Mk1 suit. They are both relatively small, this one is big.

Weird because randomly I just wanted a figurine of Saber from Fate night whilst searching I can’t see one that I am 100% happy with and saw the Nier figure and before I know it, I ordered it. It’ll be a surprise when it arrives in a year’a time.

I must admit I've been tempted by a few of the Marvel ones (I think my Brother in law would love one of the better iron man ones), and I know exactly what you mean about Saber.
Most of the characters I'd like to get a figure of either don't have one that I like at an affordable price, or have too much fan service.

Which Nier one did you go for?

I may have bought Love Live! seasons 1 and 2, as it's something I've heard people go on about so much:p

I've already got Moribito from a previous offer, Love Election, Kill Me Baby, Mahoro, Invaders, Hidamari, EF, and Arakawa from previous offers/last years mystery box.

Just different choices, from what I understand (and has been said in the past), they basically have each of the staff choose a title to go in the box from their own favourites.

I'm interested in seeing the range of choices as the last couple of boxes have been fun:)

To give an idea, the 2016 bundle was:
xmas mystery bundle: Expelled from Paradise Collections edition BD
xmas mystery bundle: Fuse the hunter collectors editon BD
xmas mystery bundle: Aldnoah , Zero collectors edition BD
xmas mystery bundle: Hal Limited edition BD
xmas mystery bundle: Gankatsou count of monte cristo collectors edition BD

And the 2017 one:
Blood Blockade Battlefront: Collectors edition Blu-ray
Eden of the East: Complete Collection Blu-ray
Free! Eternal Summer: Blu-ray collectors set
Tokyo Marble Chocolate: Collectors edition Blu-ray (realised I haven't watched that yet!)
Your Lie in april: Part 1 collectors edition Blu-ray
Tiger & Bunny: The Beginning.
Samurai Flamenco set 1.

Aye although apparently this year they've made sure they've got enough:)

I suspect what they've done this year is make the bundles up ready, as opposed to going by some stock counter or something and making them up as needed.

I think I've still got two copies of Samurai Flamenco set 1 as I already had it (and Tiger and Bunny), although without hunting through the boxes i can't be sure:)

One of these days I'm going to prune the duplicates from my collection again, as I think I last did it about 5 or 6 years ago when I realised I had something like 4 copies of Tsubasa Chronicles (from when the release got interrupted and restarted twice), and multiples of some volume 1's.

I'm seriously tempted by BSP but as I've seen it and already spent rather a lot I'm holding off (I suspect it'll be in their weekly sale at some point).

I had a look at what I've spent so far on anime over the last couple of weeks and I have definitely failed to avoid spending too much:p

Yeah, Lain was my first ever anime DVD purchase on the 6th November 1999, along with Record of Lodoss war. :)

Must resist. :/
I failed:(

It's ordered as it's one I've been wanting to get on blu-ray for ages along with Haibane Renmei.

I was updating my anime dvd spreadsheet and realised I'm now at over 1000 purchases/individual discs/case  (although probably a couple of hundred of those were TRSI bundles like YUA where it was something like 20 individual DVD's in a bundle).

Even at £10 each.....
I've been collecting for ~18 years, so it's not as bad as it seems, I don't smoke, drink or do takeaway meals* so it's not too terrible, it's basically a purchase a week on average (I also don't do mobile phone contracts**).
Up until 2012 I was noting accumulated cost and how much i'd spent every 3 months, somehow that stopped.:p

*Well the odd burger round a friend's, or fish and chips every few weeks ;)
**I'm a £20 a year top person as I hate using them for calls/texts.
