The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Spent way to much on anime yesterday what with pre-orders and picking up both parts of March like a Lion from AtA in the sale
I'm trying not to spend any money on anime at the moment, mainly because I've still got am 18l realy useful box (and then some) full of unwatched anime from December, along with about half a 9l box from last year, and that's before the stuff i've got queued up on Netflix/Prime or the large jiffy bag that arrived this morning*.
The other reason I'm not buying any more at the moment is I've had an expensive month in terms of a kickstarter and new monitor.

*It's not getting opened till Monday.

I finished Sword Oratoria last night which was quite enjoyable and nice to see some of the "secondary" characters from "is it wrong...".

I'm probably going to watch something light starting tonight, possibly Lucky Stars or Kill me Baby as it's been a while since I saw either of them, and I've got the blu-rays sat on the side.
I've also sorted out some of my "lock down" viewing at least...

If that isn't enough, I've got about half as much again in another box, and that's before this years new streaming/netflix

LOL

Aye, ATA's dispatch notifications are somewhat...erratic
I think I've had no dispatch notification at all, it arriving a week or more after the item, getting the text message but not the email etc:)

I watched Shomin Sample over the last few days, which was very funny in places but I can't help wonder how parts of it got past the BBFC at it's rating:p
I'm currently watching Gonna be the Twintail which is fun and silly.

Next up is almost certainly either Parasyte (I picked up the collectors editions for ~£20 each a few weeks back), or Lucky Star depending on my mood when it comes time to change disks:)

On a side note, does anyone have any suggetions as to an MP3 renamer that is reasonably fast, easy to use and Accurate?
I'm trying to sort out my MP3 collection but Picard seems to have issues with the MP3's for some of the older Anime OST's (Bubblegum Crisis etc), I figure as I'm probably not getting out of the house for a while longer i might as well try and sort out my MP3's so that Android devices and my car can read the titles etc properly (much of my collection is from the days before android, with some going back 20+ years).

I've not watched the new SAC, I didn't realise it was up in the west!

I'll probably give it a go in a few weeks, at the moment I'm still working on my Christmas sales backlog;)
I finished Lucky Stars the other night which was better than I remember it, mainly because i'd forgotten so much of what happened.
Currently on Heavy Gear which I'm enjoying so far, and next up is probably going to be Snow White, Yona or Mikuragi School Suite (or possibly a film in which case Penguin Highway).

ATA have announced they're putting Utena up for pre-order tomorrow, including some limited bundles one with a book and replica rose seal for £115, one with the 3 blu-ray sets for £100.
IIRC limited to 80 and 300 units respectively, I'm undecided which one i'll go for.

well only when live at 5pm today and ata is already sold out of the part 1 with rigid case for all parts, complete pack(part1,2,3 & rigid case) minus extra (book and seal), ultimate everything of Revolutionary Girl Utena. only part 1 standard blu-ray without rigid case is still available.
Unfortunately it seems the top bundle sold out in something like a minute:(
I had one in my basket and it was gone by the time I got paypal to log in.

I'm tempted by it, at that price especially given there is meant to be some form of discount for their online store (depending on the T&C of the discount), as I can quite easily see myself getting some/most of that back via the discount.

Anyone else getting excited at the https://www.cloudmatsuri.com/ announcements?

Eva on blu-ray (my 3rd, 4th or will it be 5th? time of buying Eva), Planetes on blu-ray. Bartender, B the beginning, Demon Slayer.

Anime-on-line.com have a 20% off everything code "MATSURI" for this weekend as well, which I'm taking advantage off as I've had some bits in my basket waiting for the weekend.

One of us...One of us....;)

Spice and Wolf is one of my favourite anime series, and I would love to see their adventures continue in animated form, but it's been so long:(
The books are great and really push on with the story, which reminds me I need to see if there have been more of the "new parchment" books released since I last read them.

I'm not sold on VR (mainly because of the cost of the headsets), but awesome to know they're still making stuff based on it :)

If anyone has the Zavvi "red carpet" membership the weathering with you 4k exclusive set is up for £45 inc discounts/red carpet code:) (my fingers may have slipped).

There a 4k Deluxe variant version of "Weathering with you" now on ATA for £49.99 the version that was on zavvi is now sold out.

Cheers!

I managed to get one of the original 4k versions (with the OST I think), as I was checking zavvi every 15 minutes until it came up:)

I watched the Saga of Tanya the Evil over the last few days, really enjoyed it.

I love history things though, so it was a really good mix of alternate history with an interesting protagonist. Really liked the audio and visual work as well, really good world building.

Going to follow up with the movie though as I just learnt it exists :)

I've actually got Tanya in my "watch" pile at the moment, as I'm going to have a go at it after I finish Dragon Dentist tonight:)

I saw "watch" pile, it's really more a mountain at the moment:p

I'm very much a short and sweet anime fan as well, in part because I don't have the patience to watch a long running story where half the episodes are filler, so I tend to like 12-36 episode series, although if the story arcs are reasonably tight with little filler I'm happy to watch 50+ episodes.
It doesn't bother me much if it's "slow paced" if there is a reason for it, Aria is one of my favourite anime and it's basically 3 girls learning to paddle canoes* ;) whilst having quiet adventures and learning about life, it's about the most sedate anime I've ever seen and is really relaxing to watch, especially when stressed (I want a UK BD release!!!).

Depending on what you like things like Spice and Wolf are good, although far too short as they basically covered the events of about 3 out of 20 of the light novels and left it very much open to continue (there are about 20 light novels in the main series, with a sequel series of light novels ongoing), Durururura is good and complicated, Baccano! is very good but you need to pay attention (I ended up getting to episode 4 then restarting from the begining), Panty and Stocking is just nuts and rude but so funny.

*ok, gondola's but they're just over sized canoes with delusions of grandeur :D (I'll be hiding in the boat shed if anyone from Venice comes calling;))

Just started watching Tordora, WTF is this? And why am I laughing so much? I absolutely love it so far (7eps in). It has no fighting, no heroes, no fan service, but it’s so good! Lol
It is rather good fun, I just finished watching it for the first time in a few years and I'd forgotten how funny it was, and indeed that it is a proper 24 episodes long:)

Finished it, nicely wrapped up. I like it. I always knew there is this genre in anime but never seen one like it. Got any other similar ones like it you can recommend?
I can't really think of much similar to it, as most of the ones that I can think of would be more harem related, or more serious.

On a completely different note, anime-on-line are doing a sale on some of their collectors editions sets, iirc 60% off RRP, so things like flipflappers and Girls Last Tour for ~£30ish.

Blue Sonnet?
It's been probably 20 years since I saw it, but that might fit as IIRC she was a cyborg who didn't know what she was at first.

I don't think Project AKO would fit, although it's the same time period and the main character was a cybrg/superhuman who i don't think knew it at first.

Otherwise Armitage 3 might do it, if the girl wore red leather, but iirc that was set on mars (or one of them was).

I've been thinking about it for about an hour as it's bugging me, I think I should know it.
