Can somebody please clarify if "CC- HE CONTRACT UPLIFT MACBOOK-INT" is 3 year warranty on hardware? or if it's not needed for HE purchases?

The uplift is simply the extended telephone support. I didn't opt for it and still received documentation after 3 months detailing my AppleCare details and expiry date.

As the free three year warranty only applies for online/phone purchases, what will happen if I go to an Apple Store? Will they offer me the 50£ Apple Care that appears online when you buy, or is that also a online exclusive?

If you buy through HE store online/phone

• You get 1 year telephone user support
• You get 3 years warranty
• You may find that the 3 year warranty does not show up when you enter your serial number on the Apple website. You'll have to chase Apple by phone or email to get it sorted
• You can pay £50 to extend your telephone user support to 3 years

If you buy instore with HE discount

• You get 1 year telephone user support
• You get 1 years warranty
• You can pay £50 to extend your telephone user support to 3 years and your warranty to 3 years

Thinking of getting a 13" Air but can't order until I have an un-conditional offer from the university, and I won't have one of them until I have actually started the course due to a CRB check being one of the conditions. May have to just buy with a smaller discount as an educator now rather than wait. Annoying but I suppose it is to stop people taking advantage
