Online or by the phone you get 3 year HE warranty. In store you just get the discount + normal 12 month warranty.

You'll probably need to order through the website because it's actually based on IP rather than student email address. Over the phone I believe it's student number, but I can't quite remember.

When I've ordered online I just address that is attached to my Apple account. Never had to use my student e-mail. As long as I've been connected to the education store via the Uni proxy/VPN it's all gone through without issues.

Apple care is provided automatically but you can purchase an uplift by selecting that option. I can't remember what exactly that adds.

In the UK HE sales are automatically provided with 3 years Applecare free of change. You can select an add-on to the free Applecare which gives you 3 years telephone support as well for a small fee. Most do not bother with it.

Discount on the Retina is £12.40 and £9.80 on the 2.
