Same as students when I worked there, so it depends on the level of education - you get the discount level according to what sort of institution you work at.

Ah right, it's my other half so as she works at a college she'd only get FE discount which is about 8%?

Depends, if the college does Access courses they may well get the full HE discount. Would need to check from the colleges internet to be sure.

You would more than likely get the College discount then rather than the full HE.

I recently bought HE online. I was off campus LAN, so used the correct URL that the campus IP gatechecker forwards you on to. Put in my .ac.uk email address for the order, and that's it. Haven't been asked to do any proof or anything. It... just worked!

When I was there (and friends more recently) it was all off a list - there's a list of HE and a list of FE. There was a couple of times when people were at college and the institution turned out to be on the higher list. Maybe due to them doing access courses as someone else mentioned?

Either way it was dependent on what list it was on in store.

They appear to be, ie there is a finance page on the HE store with the same terms as the non HE store.

Want to get an iMac for my step daughter/family who has the HE discount. My dad is going to buy it and we pay him back. If we order over the phone do they both need to be here or can they ring separately? (live about 100 miles apart)

Shouldn't be a problem (as per here). Just make sure that your step-daughter can provide the correct confirmation if asked.
