The ASUS Rampage V Extreme Thread

I haven't had any issues so far, Windows seemed to take slightly longer to boot up though. Reflashed the BIOS with the same 1801 update and seems to have sorted itself out. Might see if I can get any better OC, I can get 4.5 @ 1.3 but haven't really tried pushing beyond that. Though that was through BCLK at 125 to have memory running at 3000.

Is it still the October date after the reflash?

To the owners of the Asus RAMPAGE V , there are 2 versions, one is a normal version one is a USB 3.1 version!!

Price difference is £50

So apart from the USB 3.1 add on card thats bundled in with the errr, 3.1 version, Is there any other difference??

Seems 50 quid price difference just for a USB 3.1 riser add on card is steep, cant see anything on google...

Im wondering that there must be something else that different, i.e new updated bios or new chips ect???

You're just paying for the USB 3.1 Type-A (Dual) card. An early version of the bios (1302) provided support for the card. There is nothing extra. You can always buy the card by itself and save yourself some money.

guys help me with sum advice

just installed this mobo, all is fine, when i started up the windows update downloaded sum drivers not sure what,

but looking at the software there is so much so confused:

do i need the

intel lan driver? (im on ethernet connection now)

do i need intel chipset driver? (not sure if i have it but pc seems to be running fine)

also how to tell what version of bios im on? do i really need to update the bios?

yes and no will be suffice

I always load the following drivers:

Chipset (chipset)
MEI (chipset)
Intel LAN (lan)
IRST (sata)
Bluetooth

You may need Audio when not using a soundcard and Asmedia SATA if using that controller.

Latest drivers:

To find bios version from windows run "Command Prompt" then enter "SYSTEMINFO" then click "Enter". It will be in the list.

You can always go into the bios to find the version by pressing the Delete key when the pc starts to boot.

If you are below bios 1701 then I would update.
