The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

Hi guys, anyone else suffered from flickering on the windows desktop when setting to 144hz refresh rate? 60 and 120 both work fine which is incredibly frustrating. Only had the monitor for 3 weeks, was hoping it was just my old GTX 770 but the problem is still there even with my new GTX 780tis (thanks OCUK!).

So far I've tried multiple drivers and even bought a second displayport cable today but no luck. Any help much appreciated.

For a potentially interested buyer of the RoG Swift... a friend of mine warned me that many online shops will stockpile refurbished units from Asus. How can I protect myself as a consumer against this if I like to purchase one? If I do plan to buy a Swift, perhaps I should best do it from my local retail shop?

Also does anyone know how I can control the manufacturer date upon my purchase? If its on the box that would make it more convenient I guess.
Just want to make sure if I do happen to buy one, that I do it right and be as informed as I can.

Completely illegal, They cannot sell used/re-furbished products as new they would get dragged through the grinder in court.

Thanks for clearing that up I guess, but keep in mind I don't live in the UK but in the Netherlands.
So if I plan to purchase one soon, any specific manufacturer date I should be on the lookout for. Are there 2015 productions allready?

From my research it's best to have gotten models with the manufacturing date of Dec 2014 as these have the least issues, Again just from reading on on the Asus forums :)

Then I'd imagine if I ordered one from a shop that is out of stock, I may be able to get a recent build. What are your opinions on pixel warranty? For a 699 euro's monitor, I would want to be able to exchange for even 1 dead pixel. Seems I'm the only one that finds it bothersome enough to pay extra on for the pixel warranty.

if you buy something and it doesn't work/your not happy, you can return it.

I really don't know what you expect people to tell you that hasn't already been said a million times.

Every item you have ever purchased has a chance to fail, it's inconvenient but that's about it.

As for pixel warranty, read the descriptions or contract the retailer, not everyone offers this and I've never seen any shop charge a premium for this, this isn't eBay and your not buying from Korea.

7th day owning it and my Swift has developed a dead pixel :(

Time to RMA.

At least it happened within the 28 day pixel policy.

As it's still within the 14 day refund window I'm also thinking of just getting a refund as to be honest nearly every Asus monitor I've had has developed dead pixels, Little ridiculous considering the price of these things.

Another one bites the dust come on ASUS what are you playing at.

I'm quickly going off Asus monitors due to nearly every monitor I've owned from them developing stuck or dead pixels eventually, It's ridiculous considering the price of these things.

And this RMA knowing my luck is going to take weeks and in the mean time I'm without a monitor, Royally ****** off.
