Am i the only person who's seriously worried about this emerging into European/English football?

Agents and companies owning players taking their cut of transfer fee's, taking money out of the game. If an emerging talent is owned by this company then a top club shows an interest, then what are the options...

1. They pay millions to buy the player, resulting in money leaving the game.

2. West Ham type situation where the player is rented / pimped to the highest bidder.

I just dont want to think about what the consequences would be, smaller teams would rent top class players to try and compete, then have an artificially prosperous team, they'd get no money from sales, nor care about bringing up their own youngsters.

Of course you would get some teams like arsenal / southampton/ man u who always try to develop their own talent, but then you'd have teams like bolton / portsmouth who could compete on a level far above their means, with potentially damaging results if it all falls apart.

Personally i think the FA should introduce a rule to say you must own 100% of a players rights to have him in your team, but i know they won't since they're dominated by money making fools.

Discuss...

I think it sucks that a few clubs seem to have all the power and money and it's a worse situation now where it's not always clear who's in control now.

Oh how things change.
All the crys of 'it only happens in Italy and we're so perfect with how we go about running football'.

I don't think anyone's claimed that since Sky invented football.

I don't think any club, individual or company should be able to own the rights of player, and transfer fees should be abolished. Players should be employed just as any other member of staff would be working for any "normal" business.

That's what the Bosman ruling is about, but a player under contract is technically "own" by the club and another club will have to compensaste the lost of that player, hence the transfer fee. But when the contract is up then the player can leave for free.
