The best antivirus

Use the search feature, this has been answered in-depth a bazillion times. Just put "best antivirus" in there, you know you want to.
 
I used to be a NOD32 fanboy until it let a trojan into my system that I had to use Avast to get rid of. It is very good but not good enough.

i agree with you AJUK did the same to me so went to kaspersky 6.0and its been spot on
 
I would have said NOD32 a few weeks ago but it certainly isnt the best anymore from my experience.

^ I'd say that was one of the best free AV's out there now, its basically Kasperspy 6.0 with an AOL logo stuck on it.

So far been very impressed with it, detected 15 virus's,malware,spyware and trojan's on a old messed up pc which NOD32 could never clean.
 
recently switched from NOD32 to Kaspersky as well, after it let a few nasty buggers take over my PC, Kaspersky is more resource hungry but it stops everything

Kaspersky is the best antivirus product around. The above is the best free product around, will post my full testing results over the weekend.
 
Kaspersky is a bit of a hog.It works well, but i'd prefer a lite version. Atm, i'm using Sophos. It works a treat, if you you prefer the minimalist look.
 
If you want a lighter free AV then take a look at Avira. Its detection rates are not quite as good as Kaspersky but they are still excellent and you won't notice it's there ;)

Hence why most of the blue chip I.T companys in London spend 10's of thousands of pounds every year protecting their client PC's with it.
 
Kaspersky 6.0. It's fast, exciting and to tell the truth, sorry for all the fanboys out thee, kicks NOD32s arse in terms of detection.
So okay, the only thing NOD32 users have over me is their argument that they use "less" system resources than me. So what? The difference in resources used between NOD32 and Kaspersky 6.0 is small.

Best bet mate is Kaspersky 6.0. It has brilliant support too. I had a problem with it. E-mailed the guys, and kablamo! 27 minutes later I got a an e-mail with a step by step guide on how to sort the problem out and got offered a phone call walkthrough too.

NOD32 is well over rated on these forums, and indeed, everywhere else. Kaspersky 6.0 > NOD32 any day of the years.
