Why do I find so much interest for those American towns like in OPs links? I find them fascinating to look at, but I'm not sure I'd want to live there. Maybe just to photograph.

LOL! One thing that amazes me about the states is that in many places, even the deprived have plenty of land around their homes... The rot set in when Pleasley Colliery shut in 1983, nearly all of Nottinghamshire's remaining pits closed in the 80's and 90's, taking massive numers of jobs.. snip.
Knowle West has to be up there, just behind Merthyr.
