Knowing my luck, someone's beaten me to making this thread while I took forever typing it up. But anyway...

Tottenham v Arsenal (First leg: 1-1)
Kick off: 8pm
Sky Sports 1

Should be a good one. Spurs desperate to end their nine-year run of failing to beat us, and add a bit of much-needed silverware, while Arsenal try their best not to let silly distractions like the Premiership title race, two Newcastle games in three days, and an upcoming tie against Europe's top ranked team AC Milan distract their all-important second-stringers from losing in their least important competition. It's tense! With Arsenal's injury list, we have a fair bit to worry about though:
Beeb said:
Arsenal (from): Fabianski, J Hoyte, Gallas, Traore, Diaby, Denilson, Gilberto, Eduardo, Walcott, Bendtner, Mannone, Sagna, Rosicky, Randall, Gibbs, Lansbury, G Hoyte.
Only one recognised centre-back fit :(. Which most likely means either Gilberto or Justin Hoyte partnering Big Willy G at the back. Given the poor form of the former, I hope it's the latter, although I'm still not convinced that Hoyte is good enough for us yet. Otherwise, it's (probably) Walcott on the right, Diaby on the left (would love to see him get a central role some time soon though), and Bendtner + Eduardo (= goals) up front.

In all seriousness though, it should be a good game. I'm worried we just won't be good enough for Spurs though, with their first team, and our bunch of semi-crocked kids. I'm actually quite nervous about it, which usually means I'm going to enjoy it a lot more. Should be good.

(And no, I wasn't just trolling with the title, Gus Poyet said it. Enjoy the kids cup if you beat us lads. :p)

I have managed to pull off three nights in a row away from the girlfriend this week (bar an early evening trip to the gym later). It just so happens these three days have coincided with three televised matches (last night, tonight, tomorrow). Well isn't that just a piece of luck :D

I think Walcott will be up front with Bendtner, Eduardo has been playing a lot in the PL lately and i think Wenger will want him fresh for the next game.

Not sure if Gallas will play in defence either, i can see a youngster coming in, maybe Gavin Hoyte in CB with Justin in RB, either that or Gilberto will play CB with a midfield of Gibbs/Diaby/Denilson/Randall.

Could be totally wrong but i think there will be a few surprises in the team selection, i'd like to see Lansbury subbed for Diaby to see what he's capable of against a top quality team.

Kids cup eh ?

You seemed to have the need to make a post filled mainly with excuses expecting to lose.
Mainly because I do kind of expect us to lose, and I just thought a few digs at Tottenham might make it a bit more fun/interesting, and it helps get rid of my nerves about it. :)

My head says the team we play just won't be up to the quality (urgh I said it) of Spurs' team. I can't see [insert makeshift defence here] standing up to Berbatov/Keane/Lennon/et al. That said, I really, really, really don't want us to lose, but it's going to be tough.

Our young'uns have done very well in this cup over the years and I think they could win tonight, although it will be very tough.

My head says that Spurs are going to win this one, they will want it more since it's pretty much their only route to (second string) European football and the fact that it'd be plain embarrassing if they fail to win vs. the Arsenal second team again. Oh and they have the stronger team on paper too.

Who knows though? If Rosicky starts he could easily un-do the Spurs defence and if Walcott is up front he can be deadly with his pace, albeit that's pretty much all he has going for him at the moment ..

2 - 1 Spurs in my opinion.

I'm personally not assed about it that much. These kids showed that they could get to the final last year, if we don't get there this year then it'll ease our fixture congestion later on in the season.

However it - it is Spurs we're playing. And we did lose the final last year. So erm, ok I might want us to do well.

The beeb in getting it wrong shocker! Their squads are always wrong.

I believe Gavin Hoyte is suspended so I don't know why he would be in the squad in the first place and Randall played for the reserves last night.

Lol it's usually because they don't update it that often until the match itself is playing (live scores).

Wenger seems to have changed his tack slightly then with some of the big guns in the squad. Should have a good enough team to at least have a decent chance of winning this one now :)

Yeap seen it just now on arsenal online - the only players who have been "left out" are Clichey and Rosicky, others that are out are in the ACON/injured. The rest are playing, and er, SENDEROS IS OUT!! ******* GET IN!!! YES!!!!
