The Boy Who Lived Before

"We visited them at their new address in Stirling, but couldn’t find anything about a Shane Robertson."

lol

"We didn’t get all the answers we were looking for — and, apparently, past life memories fade as the person gets older."

Oh, how convenient!

"I don’t think we’ll ever get all the answers."

Oh dear :(

Good work, you maintained appropriate level of public cynicism in face of information that challenges your existing belief!

Almost all concious memory fades with time, why should you remember parts of your past life when most of us cant remember what we had for breakfast yesterday...

4 sausages, 2 rashers of bacon, 2 fried eggs, 2 slices of brown toast, cuppa :p

imo, "past life" memory is about as credible as astrology...not at all.

I'm willing to believe it, if it's true :D

I think regression is a very shakey pseudoscience but I certainly wouldn't rule out reincarnation as in this alleged case.

It doesn't challenge my belief at all though, and the burden of proof is very much on them. Also, since when has cynicism been a bad thing? I'm not going to go round believing all the claptrap mad people spout unless they can damn well prove it--that's not a bad thing at all.

For all I know, they've just cherry picked generic information and forced the story to fit it. I won't know until I see the programme, obviously--and perhaps not even after that--but considering everyone who's ever claimed to have a past life has been shot to pieces when they've had to prove it, I don't hold much hope.

Even if you believe in reincarnation, you must not believe that our memories are stored in the brain, then?

It depends how you define 'memory'. The way I see it, most of the ideas that follow through from one life to the next are the ones with massive emotional significance attached to them. A person can develop subconcious emotions that they are not able to conciously explain, I figure that past-life associations may be transferred in a similar way. Ever wondered why people have inexplicable phobias or similar?

The parts of the body that hold subconcious memory are not certain, as subconoius events are very hard to measure.

I love programs like this because you can have long debates about it afterwards, and i find these kind of things really interesting

Strange really. I'm same with programs about aliens etc, i dont believe but LOVE watching things about it all :)

Yesterday i had scrambled egg on toast for breakfast btw :p

So glad you posted this, read it in the sun about 2 weeks ago and completely forgot. I Don't think he's lived before, but it'll be an intresting watch.
