Iirc, xfire clocks should both be the same, if ones different the driver then has to underclock one card which has already been oc in the first place.
When I was trying to apply profiles when oc testing, it was doing the same thing, it wasn't going higher than stock. I had to restart pc and switch off afterburner at startup, reset and re-save the oc settings to get the profiles to work again. Similar symptoms to what you are getting.
Remember Afterburner is still in beta.
Are you using the 2.1 beta 7? Have you applied the oc at startup? I seen a post (sorry but I can't remember where it was) on how to delay Afterburner from starting straight away when powering up. This may/not help.
Just a suggestion but maybe you should try the cards at stock for a while before letting loose on oc's. They must be tearing most games to bits as they are.
Remember you have already released extra performance in the first place by unlocking them. You stated earlier that you are a bit new to oc'ing, and xfire is a different kettle of fish than just a single card setup.
Personally, if I was in your situation I would be testing oc's on each card on their own to see what clocks they are stable at. One card may be much better and more stable than the other one. Then this would give you an idea on what kind of oc might be achievable in xfire.
When I had sli, when it worked it was phenomenal, when it didn't it was very frustrating and drove me absolutely mental.

tbh i will probably only use these settings for games like metro and Crysis [most games just dont need it] good to know it works
