I watched this movie again tonight, and reminded me of when I seen it in the cinema, the ending was different.

The one I watched tonight had the main character kill himself in the womb, but whenever I seen it in cinema, he went back to an early birthday party and told the girl(kayleigh) he hated her, so she doesn't live with her dad, and when he sees her again in the streets when hes older he just continues walking and so does she, unlike the alternative endings on the DVD.

Did anyone else see this ending or am I mad?

K. well that explains the normal ending on the DVD I have. So is the standard ending supposed to be the one I seen in the cinema?

If I remember correctly there were 3 different endings;

1 - As you mention, he kills himself in the womb.
2 - Again as you mention, he's nasty to her and never falls in love, but sees her in the street but they pass each other by.
3 - Similar to above, but apparently they notice each other in the street and start talking.

I've seen the first 2 endings but not the 3rd.

Even though Ashton Kutcher got slated in the reviews I read, I thought he did pretty well, very enjoyable movie!

The one where he kills himself in her womb is the directors cut i believe. This wasn't shown in the cinema afaik as it was thought to be 'upsetting'.

Only movie I have liked him in, I was hesitant and pleasantly surprised :)

Best ending out of the 3 tbh. The cinema ending will have been for the Americans as they prefer a "happy" ending, just like 28 days later, I prefer the version they didn't show where wotsis face didn't make it at the end.

how exactly was he meant to go back to hisself as a foetus though? thats a hell of a lot more far fetched than the going back to bday party really..
Like what does he use to get himself back there, iv not seen it so dont know - does he look at an ultrascan or listen to music his mum used to have on lol?

you've not seen it so you don't know. if you'd have seen it you'll know he is shown to watch a home movie showing the mother pregnant about to give birth and the foetus strangles itself. best ending there is.

ah ok that sounds more reasonable then, i was just thinking how the hell they manage that :), tbh i think the other ending where he walks past her in the street is ok, iv not seen the one where they get talking, thats just lame. the birthday party was a perfect ending in my eyes

I love this film. The best ending for me is the womb even though its the most unbeliveble but this is a sc-fi film its not suposed to be true to life.

I;ve only seen the cinema ending (number 2) myself but after I seen it the first time my friend explained the directors cut to me and said it was a much better ending.
