Gave my car a clean last weekend and came up quite nicely considering the old girl is creeping up to the 10 year mark. Gave it a good old wash over, clay and polish. A week later and it's covered in dust and bird poo :( , bloody summer weather bringing birds and dust.

Ouch! My house windows seem to get sideways air to glass missiles like that, I clean the windows then few days later...again!!

I claybarred mine yesterday, the side panels weren't that bad but the difference on the boot lid, roof and bonnet is amazing. Remarkable how much **** finds its way into the micro pits in the paint over the course of a year!.

The deep gloss really comes out especially when driving down the road and looking at the side mirror and all you can see on the lower left is reflections from everything on each side =)

(bumper corner looks different due to lighting/reflection from the lighter pavement area, it's not actually different in reality :p)

I've always hated washing the car, but then again I've never known how to do it properly. In the four years I've had it, I've washed it but I've never waxed it or applied any sort of product to it.

I've waited for some suspension work to be finished before washing the car as I didn't want to get grime on a freshly washed car. My car is now filthy. Reading these threads has inspired me to change my ways and start taking more care of the car's looks. Maybe I'll get as far as a clay bar one day!

Has anyone tried the Dr Leather wipes? I'm tempted to buy some but they only come in a big tub of 150 at the moment.

Just had some bits sorted on the car the past few days ready for summer and a blast to Europe.

Decided to de-badge all of the rear due to the decals starting to show signs of fading, new rear wiper, locking nuts, intercooler repainted, manifold heat shield painted, new rear bushes and other bits.

Planning on doing a full paint restoration on my E36 - it's in technoviolet and the paint is in an absolutely terrible state. I will post some before and after photos if anyone's interested?

Decided to take advantage of the weather and a half day!

Apologies for the picture quality, taken on phone...

I desperately need AG SRP and some Collinite. Also need to get the number plate sorted, that holder is looking cheap and tacky.

Have a quarter of a mile of single track lane (hardcore) to house, one trip down there looks like its been in the Dakar Rally.

Lucky I didn't wash mine this morning and did it just now.

Drove to Portsmouth and on the flyover approaching Portsmouth, just by the waste hill, a flock of seaguls flew overhead and at the exact same time decided to drop their stomach contents all over the front of the car ind windscreen!
At first I thought I'd driven into a swarm of bees or something from the splat noises from everywhere ahead but looking closer it was white and dribbling and just vomit inducing to look at!

A few roads down here have been re surfaced and dust from those layered my car over the week. Maybe something similar down your way.
