Clay bar'd mine for the first time today. My god it needed it! Massive improvement!

However the sun revealed quite a few swirl marks which made me sad inside :(

Washed mine a day or two ago and greeted with it covered in pollen today. House backs onto a rapeseed field :(

My autoglym detailing kit arrived today, so I may clay bar it early tomorrow morning before it gets too hot.

Hmm I've noticed that a line (maybe 1mm deep) on my passenger side front tyre corner cutting along half the tyre circumference, it's not deep of course and the tyre is pretty much brand new so I'm hoping the cut line will fade as the tread wears in.

Must have happened on a sharp curb as I was exiting one day recently :/

Dont no why i bothered, covered on pollen now lol

New tools for the job.

WTF?

Is your mitt sitting on the floor along with those microfibers touching the floor?

Completely missing something there...

It's a Supaguard style product - it's basically just a polish/wax combo they try and flog you when you buy a car. It's main use is to make epic, epic margin for the supplying dealer as they usually charge 100-400 for it depending on the customer.

No it didn't pay for it, the (life shine pack) was free with the car. There were no optional extra`s on the car, Audi must hide it in the cost or put it onto new cars for free lol.

Grit helps with the ground in dirt (mit has a cardboard package on the back micro`s are on a box of Halfords micro`s). If you look really hard they are casting a shadow, so they cannot be on the floor lol.

I hope those Micros aren't drying towels but instead glass drying and buffing towels, they look rather small and I found them to be too small (if they're the same ones) for my car hence the Muc-Off kit purchase which has a large double sided towel!

They were in the (Shine Pack) all Auto Glym products about a foot square, buffing towels there are about 5 more in the front pouch for glass etc

Recently ran out of my Megs gold class shampoo, quite happy with it but is there anything better for a similar price? The Megs stuff lasted ages. I had the NTX stuff before the gold class and thought that was pretty decent too.

Going to buy a few extra bits and pieces.

Clay - Bilt Hamber original
Wheel cleaner - Valet Pro Bilbery safe wheel cleaner
Tyre dressing - Autoglym Tyre dressing

Still got plenty of AG super resin polish and Collinite wax left.

How do you guys clean your mits and microfibre stuff?

I went from Megs Gold Class to Werkstat auto body wash and will probably go back the Megs Gold Class when I run out — I don't think it foams as much, it's more expensive and you get less of it... stick with the Gold Class. :)

As for cleaning mits and microfibres, you're supposed to wash them in the machine at a medium temperature using a liquid detergent and no fabric softener.

Liquid instead of powder so that if the powder doesn't dissolve, you don't end up with particles being scrapped across your paintwork.
